EEC-202 Electrical and Electronic Measurement : Laboratory

General guidelines
✓ It is mandatory to wear shoes in the laboratory.
✓ Avoid loose clothing.
✓ Please prepare a separate notebook for the laboratory.
✓ Make the connections carefully and get it checked from the faculty / concerned TA.
✓ The readings of the experiment must be verified by the concerned TA/ faculty.
✓ Report of one experiment must be submitted during the immediate next lab class.
✓ Include the following on the left side of the lab notebook:
✓ Circuit diagram to be drawn using pencil and ruler with range of different instruments,
component values, value of supply voltage, etc., clearly specified.
✓ Sample Calculation.
✓ Include the following on the right side of the lab notebook:
✓ Experiment no and objective of the experiment
✓ Apparatus used with range
✓ Observation table
✓ Conclusion and Discussions.
Details of experiments to be performed:

• Total 10 experiments to be conducted in two phases: Phase 1 and Phase 2.


• Phase 1: 05 Experiments
1. Measurement of DC voltage, current a DC circuit and Measurement of unknown resistance
in medium range using Wheatstone’s bridge.
2. Measurement of a low-valued resistance using Kelvin’s double bridge
3. Measurement of earth’s resistance using three wire/pole method.
4. Measurement of active power in a three-phase AC circuit.
5. Measurement of energy in a single-phase AC circuit using analog energy meter.
Details of experiments to be performed:

• Phase 2: 05 Experiments
1. Measurement of energy in a single-phase AC circuit using electronic energy meter
2. Study of Voltage to Frequency Converter and its characterization using KA331 IC.
3. Study of Frequency to Voltage Converter and its characterization using KA331 IC.
4. Measurement of Low magnitude AC voltage measurement using precision rectifier.
5. Study of LabVIEW software and data acquisition hardware and its application in
studying Lissajous pattern on oscilloscope.
Evaluation Scheme
• Daily performance ( Viva, Participation in performing the experiment, Reports)

• Reports: 05 Marks

• Daily Performance: 05 Marks

• Attendance: 05 Marks

• Final lab exam: 10 Marks (Common for all sections)

• Total Marks: 25 (for PRS)


Phase 1 Experiments

Experiment No : 1 : Measurement of DC voltage, current, and power in a DC circuit and


measurement of unknown resistance measurement using Wheatstone’s bridge

Experiment No : 2 : Measurement of a low valued resistance using Kelvin’s double bridge


Experiment No : 3 : Measurement of earth’s resistance using three wire / three-pole method.

Experiment No : 4 : Measurement of active power in a three-phase AC circuit.

Experiment No : 5 : Measurement of energy in a single-phase AC circuit using analog energy meter.


Phase 2 Experiments

Experiment No : 6 : Measurement of energy in a single-phase AC circuit using electronic energy meter.

Experiment No : 7 : Study of V to F conversion and its characterization using KA331 IC

Experiment No : 8 : Study of F to V conversion and its characterization using KA331 IC


Experiment No : 9 : Measurement of Low magnitude AC voltage measurement using precision rectifier.

Experiment No : 10 : Study of LabVIEW software and data acquisition hardware and its
application in studying Lissajous pattern on oscilloscope.
