WHEREAS, the Sanqqunlanq -Panlungsod enacted Oty Ordinance No. 37, Series of~Ul8,
entitled, "An Ordinance Enacting the Comprehensive Land Transport and Traffic Code of the City
of General Santos;"
WHEREAS,Section 146 of said Ordinance provides for the schedule of limited truck ban in
the City of General Santos;
WHEREAS,the traffic condition of the City directly demands for an etflcient, sutflclent, and
sustainable transportation system to keep up with its rapid growth;
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary to amend the abovementioned Ordinanc-e in order to
materialize the City's mission that espouses productivity and responsibility by undertaking quality
intervention in pursuance of public welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE,on motion of City Councilor Dominador S. Lagare, Jr., duly seconded
by City Councilors Virginia T. Llido, Maria Lourdes F. Casabuena, Elizabeth B. Bagonoc, and Jose
Orlando R. Acharon, be it -
RESOLVED,as it hereby resolved to enact this Ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 146 AND OTHER PROVISIONS OF CITY ORDINANCE NO.
37, SERIES OF 2018, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE LAND TRANSPORTAND TRAFFIC CODE OF
THE CITY OF GENERALSANTOSOF 2018

Be it ordained by the 20th Sangguniang Panlungsod of General Santos City that:
Section 1. Section 146 of City Ordinance No. 37, Series of 2018 is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Section 146. Truck Routes and Limited Truck Ban. - All cargo trucks with six
(6) wheels and above are hereby restricted or prohibited from passing or parking
from Mondays to Saturdays along the following roads:
1. National Highway from the Hadano Park in Barangay Apopong
traversing up to lagao-Buayan junction in Barangay lagao from 5:00
A.M. to 9:00 P.M.;
2. Pedro Acharon Boulevard from Honorio Arriola Street, Barangay Bula
up to Lower Silway Bridge, Barangay West from 6:30 A.M. to 8:30
A.M., and 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Section 2. The succeeding sections shall be renumbered/arranged accordingly.
Section 3. Repealing Clause. - All ordinances, resolutions, memoranda, and other similar
issuances, or part or parts thereof, which are inconsistent with this Ordinance, are hereby
repealed or modified accordingly.
Section 4. Separability Clause. - If for any reason any part or provision of this Ordinance
shall be held unconstitutional or invalid, other parts or provisions hereof, which are not affected
thereby, shall continue -to be in full force and effect.
Section 5. Effectivity Clause. - This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
approval.
Enacted by the 20th Sangguniang Panlungsod, City of General Santos, on its 21st Regular
Session held on January 31, 2023.
