Startmanager
The start manager allows an easier management of any database. Changing into another database will be a
lot simpler for the user.
The start manager is an ACCESS.mde file, which on one hand saves the data entered and which on the
other hand has to be provided locally on each user’s computer.
When changing the release, you first have to export the data from the current ISM release and then import
the new release.
1. Start Template
In the start template you see the 3 database formats ‘Oracle’, ‘SQL Server 2008’ and
‘Access 2003/2007’,
which are supported by the MaterialManager.
To start the MaterialManager or ISOTRANS. with the desired database click once on the selected
database and then the regarding program button.

3. Adjusting System Settings
In the system setting you are asked to select the source files in your filing mapping.
To do so click the button in the respective line, navigate to the respective mapping directory and
select the respective start file.
With the program call the INI files will be generated automatically.
An exception can be forced, if you want to call a special INI file in the ISOMAT.ini and ISOTRANS.ini
lines.
The checkmark for the CITRIX use activates the use of the MaterialManager and ISOTRANS. by
means of a terminal server. Either with the standard Windows terminal server or additionally with the
terminal server application ‘CITRIX’.
In this case each user has to have his own ISM start manager in his USER Home directory, which will
be started. Here local writing rights are needed as well, since the temporary MaterialManager and
ISOTRANS. tables will be put there.
Starting from program release ISM 106 an additional INI file ‘ISM.ini’ is supported as well, in which the
individual User Home mapping = CITRIX Home mapping can be set as a default. The ISM.ini must be
saved in the same directory as the local start manager. When starting the ISM start manager the
contents of the ISM.INI file will automatically be set as the ‘CITRIX Home mapping’.
Entry from the ISM.ini file:
You can also enter the two system variables „%HOME%“ (for the Citrix home directory) or „%TEMP%“
(for the Windows standard terminal server ).
In the line „Online help mapping“ click the button and select the folder, which contains our online
help.
The checkmark ‘Show ISOTRANS key’ activates or deactivates the ISOTRANS. start up button in the
start menu. Some user shouldn’t be able to start ISOTRANS.
