Introduction
The Network Configuration Utility is used to set up the network settings for the printer through
any of the following connection options:

l Universal Serial Bus (USB)


l LAN or Wireless LAN (WLAN) Network

System Requirements
NCR Configuration Utility supports the following operating systems:

l Microsoft® Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)


l Microsoft® Windows 8 (32-bit and 64-bit)
l Microsoft® Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit)

Main Window
This section describes the main window of the Network Configuration Utility.

Item Description

Interface Connects the printer to the terminal using any of the following connection options:
options
l USB

l WLAN/LAN Network

Port settings Displays the default Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the User Diagram Protocol (UDP) port
and options settings and provides options to modify the port settings.

Company logo Shows information about the application, such as the application name, version number, and
copyright year.

Instructions Provides instructions on how to connect the printer to the terminal.

The instructions depend on the selected interface option.

Navigation Provides navigation options.

Using the Network Configuration Utility
This chapter provides procedures for the following utility functions:

l Connecting the printer to the terminal


l Viewing the current printer settings
l Configuring printer
l Printing a diagnostic form
l Resetting all configuration utility settings to default

Connecting the Printer to the Terminal
The printer can be connected to the terminal through either of the following options:

l USB connection
l LAN or Wireless LAN (Network) connection

USB Connection
To connect the printer to the terminal through a USB connection, follow these steps:

1. To start the Network Configuration Utility application, double–click the NCR Network
Configuration Utility.exe file.
The application displays the Network Configuration Utility main window.

2. Select Universal Serial Bus (USB)→Next.
The application detects the type of interface card connected to the printer and displays
a corresponding configuration window.
The application displays the Infrastructure Mode window.

LAN or Wireless LAN Network Connection
To connect the printer to the terminal through a LAN or WLAN connection, follow these
steps:

1. To start the Network Configuration Utility application, double–click the NCR Network
Configuration Utility.exe file.
The application displays the Network Configuration Utility main window.

2. Select Network (WLAN/LAN)→Next.

3. Do one of the following:
l To modify the port settings, select Change Port, enter the new port settings, and
select Save.
l To continue to the next step, Next.
The application displays the Printer Mode window and automatically detects the printer
serial number serial numbers of all connected printers.

4. Select Next.
The application displays the Infrastructure Mode window.

Viewing Actual Printer Settings
To view the actual settings of the connected printer, follow these steps:

1. Connect the printer to the terminal. For more information, refer to "Connecting the
Printer to the Terminal" on page 4.
2. Select Get.
The application gets the actual settings of the connected printer and displays the values
on the Infrastructure Mode window.

Configuring the Printer Settings
To configure the printer, follow these steps:

1. Connect the printer to the terminal. For more information, refer to "Connecting the
Printer to the Terminal" on page 4.
2. Configure the printer settings through the Infrastructure Mode window.
Use the following table to set values.

3. To apply the new settings to the connected printer, select Set.
The application sends all printer setting changes to the connected printer and reboots
the printer. After the application has successfully configured the new settings, it
displays a notification.

Resetting All Application Settings to
Default
To reset all application settings to default, follow this step:

l On the lower left section of the Infrastructure Mode window, select Default.
The application sets all data on the Infrastructure Mode window to default.
