VII. RATIONALE
“Proyektong KAMALAYAN” is a series of activities designed to strengthen nationalistic awareness
among youth and 21st-century teachers, fostering a deeper understanding and pride in Philippine
history, culture, and identity. This webinar, titled “Youth in Action: Risk-Takers on a Mission to
Serve and Transform Communities,” is the inaugural event under Proyektong KAMALAYAN,
focusing specifically on empowering Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials. The Sangguniang
Kabataan (SK) Officials in the Partido District are the torchbearers of youth-led progress in their
barangays. They are constantly confronted with complex and evolving community needs, requiring
enhanced knowledge and skills. This webinar provides a platform for learning from experts and
peers, improving leadership capabilities and exposing them to innovative community development
practices.
SK Officials play a crucial role in representing the youth and advocating for their rights. This
webinar bridges the gap between ideas and action by focusing on youth advocacy and policy-
making, empowering them to drive positive change. It fosters a sense of community, encouraging
collaboration and innovative approaches to community development. The webinar's success will lay
a strong foundation for future Proyektong KAMALAYAN activities.
VIII. OBJECTIVES
This activity generally aims to:
• Enhance the leadership skills of SK Officials in the Partido District by providing them
with knowledge and best practices in community development, enabling them to
effectively address the evolving needs of their communities.;
• empower SK Officials to become proficient in youth advocacy and policy-making,
equipping them with the tools to translate their ideas into actionable initiatives that
positively impact the lives of the youth and the community at large, and;
• foster a collaborative and supportive network among SK Officials in the Partido
District, facilitating the sharing of experiences and resources, and inspiring them to take
innovative and risk-taking approaches to drive transformative change in their respective
barangays.

SOCIAL STUDIES INTEGRATED BUREAU OF LEARNERS
The Social Studies Integrated Bureau of Learners (SSIBOL) organization from the College of
Education will conduct a webinar entitled “Proyektong KAMALAYAN: “Youth in Action:
Risk-Takers on a Mission to Serve and Transform Communities.” This webinar will focus on
developing and enhancing the SK Officials' skills in decision-making, enabling them to devise
innovative solutions for pressing community challenges. It will also empower them to stand for
what is right in serving the people and encourage the youth to advocate for social and political
issues. Through an insightful lecture, participants will gain practical knowledge and strategies to
effectively lead and bring about positive change in their communities. The event is scheduled to
take place on January 26, 2025 from 1:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon.
This will be hosted by the SSIBOL Officers following the indicated program below.

XI. EXPECTED OUTPUT
All the objectives outlined in this activity proposal are anticipated to be achieved. This event is
expected to enhance and develop the skills and abilities of SK Officials and the Youth in decision-
making, creating advocacies that addresses current challenges and becoming the agent of change in
the community.
