COMPUTER SCIENCE FROM OSMANIA UNIVERSITY A HAVE SCORED 7.41 CGPA. AND NOW I AM
PLANNING TO DO MY MASTERS IN CS AT PACE UNIVERSITY.

Suggested Answer: The answer should be crisp and clear “ My name is Smith, I am currently
working /studying in X company/university for the past X years (only applicable in case of working)
and I am planning to study for Bachelors/Master’s/PHd X course at Y university.
2. Which University have you applied to?

AFTER COMPLETING MY MASTER I HAVE THE PLAN TO COME BACK TO INDIA AND START MY
BUSINESS. OR I MAY TAKE OVER MY FATHER’S BUSINESS

Suggested Answer: The student should be able to clearly explain that he wants to come back to India
for professional reasons and not personal reasons like family is here and we have a lot of property.
(For eg. I would like to come back to India and would like to start up my own business or would like to
work with X companies in India as it offers a lot of growth potential. Moreover, I would be closer to
my family in India or I will join my family business.

mentions the loans at the end of the statement. For eg. My parents/I will be sponsoring the
education with their savings worth 30000 USD, additionally, we have assets in form of
properties/gold/deposits worth 90000USD and we will also take up a loan worth 40000 USD.

or studying abroad.

Tips: The student should keep the following things in mind while answering the questions
• • Intent of studying in the USA as a student: The student should always say that he is
planning to study there and not talk about any internships/job opportunities.
• • Ties to the home country – Student should always mention that he will come back to his
home country for professional reasons like (business/jobs) and not personal ties like (having family
here, having to support my family or having assets here) and do not plan to stay in the USA for
employment or any internship.
• • Have sufficient funds to cover expenses for 1/2/4 years— Student should mention that he
has sufficient funds to cover expenses for the program and should be able to mention the funds. The
higher the funds, the better it is.
• • Student should sound confident throughout the interview
• • Students should provide proactive information to avoid being asked more questions
• • Students should give clear/crisp and to-the-point answers.
• • Do not ask more than 15 questions from the student as an ideal interview lasts only from
10 seconds to 3 minutes unless there is a major goof-up.
