Default file location for GEM & CSC Files with LSS

The default location for GEM and CSC file for use with LSS and the Leica DBX Database Reader is
“C:\ProgramData\McCarthy Taylor Systems Ltd\LSS\Leica_DBX\CSC”

Any custom Geoid files will need to copied into this folder prior to converting the DBX database.

The Geoid files can also be selected during the DBX conversion process if they do not exist in the above folder.

Transferring Geoid files from the Controller

To transfer the relevant Geoid file(s) from the logger, you will need to go through the following steps…

1. On the Captivate HOME page, select “Settings”

2. Then select “Tools”.

3. Now select “Transfer user objects”.

4. From the list of “Objects to transfer”, select “Geoid filed file”.

The “From” location should be “Internal memory” by default (not shown here). This will then show a list of available
Geoid files in the list.
The “To” should be your USB, so that the file can then be copied to your PC.

Click “Ok” and the file(s) will be transferred.

Click “No” to transfer any more objects.

NOTE:
It is strongly recommended that you power down your logger prior to removing your USB device, as there is a risk
of data corruption on the USB.

The relevant files can then be copied to the CSC folder as described previously.
