Model 525C Maintenance Manual (Rev 14)

4-10-01 (Rev 3)

AIRWORTHINESS LIMITATIONS INSPECTION TIME LIMITS

1. Purpose and Use
A. This section includes all airworthiness limitations maintenance tasks for the Model 525C Airplane.
NOTE: Refer to the Model 525C Maintenance Manual, Chapter 5, Non-MSG-3 Time Limits/Maintenance Checks
and MSG-3 Inspection Documents and Other Required Tasks for a complete list of all Model 525C
scheduled inspection requirements.
B. The interval specified for a given task cannot be changed, escalated, or deleted without the concurrence of the responsible
Aircraft Certification Office Branch (ACOB).
NOTE: There is no task tolerance for intervals published in this section.
C. The MM task numbers are hyperlinked to task details in this manual. The Zone number(s) are also hyperlinked to the Model
525C Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Airplane Zoning - Description and Operation to assist in planning and completing the
tasks.
D. Certification Maintenance Requirements (CMRs)
(1) CMR inspections and Component Time Limits were derived from the Model 525C System Safety Assessment. CMRs are
defined in Advisory Circular (AC) 25-19 (latest revision) and given in Table 1 and Table 3 respectively.
(2) There may be some items listed in Table 1, Certification Maintenance Requirements Tasks that are not CMR's but are still
considered mandatory Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Tasks. If included in the table, these tasks are identified by a
NOTE which states they are not CMR's.
E. Airworthiness Limitations Inspection Time Limits
(1) In accordance with §23.575, Inspection Time Limits and Component Time Limits are defined for the Model 525C and
presented in Table 2 and Table 3 respectively.
F. Corrosion Prevention
(1) The airworthiness limitations recondition and discard intervals assume corrosion is maintained to Level 1 or better. Level 1
is achieved by maintaining the aircraft according to the MSG-3 maintenance procedures identified in this Model 525C
Maintenance Manual. Refer to Chapter 5, MSG-3 Maintenance Planning Document, Corrosion Prevention and Control
Program (CPCP) for further details.
G. For groups of common tasks, refer to:
(1) Table 1 Certification Maintenance Requirement (CMR)Tasks
(2) Table 2 Airworthiness Limitation Tasks
(3) Table 3 CMR and Airworthiness Limitation Component Time Limit Tasks
(a) Refer to Table 3 for Component Time Limits Tasks that have been duplicated from Table 1 and Table 2 to assist
operators in maintenance planning.
H. Certification Maintenance Requirement (CMR) Tasks
NOTE: All initial intervals are repeat intervals unless otherwise noted.
NOTE: Inspections that do not apply to all airplanes will have the effectivity noted in the title of the Inspection
Task.

NOTE 1:

J. CMR and Airworthiness Limitation Component Time Limit Tasks
NOTE: All initial intervals are repeat intervals unless otherwise noted.
NOTE: For life-limited parts found in Table 2 and Table 3, the effectivities listed are intended to show the part
numbers that were originally installed on the airplane. Authorized, substitutions, supersedures and
spares replacements may result in part numbers installed on airplanes outside the effectivities listed in
these tables. Life limits are associated with part numbers and should be followed regardless of Airplane
serial number.
(1) Control of Life-Limited Parts
WARNING: If the life status of a part cannot be determined or the life-limit of a part has been reached, the part
shall be considered to be beyond its safe life and must be disposed of in accordance with 14 CFR
Part 43.
(a) 14 CFR Part 43.10 requires all persons who remove life-limited parts from airplanes to safely control these parts.
Most life-limited parts can be controlled by using a record keeping system based on the serial numbers of each part
per 14 CFR Part 43.10(c)(1). Life-limited parts which have been predetermined to be impractical for marking with a
serial number have been identified and annotated by an asterisk (*), which references a footnote, at the end of the
life-limited part numbers.
(b) Where a serial number has not been assigned to a life-limited part, one of the following methods such as tagging or
permanent marking can be used per 14 CFR Part 43.10(c)(2)-(7). Textron Aviation offers the following guidance for
adhering to this rule:
1 Assessing the Status of Life-Limited Parts
NOTE: The following guidelines may be used to assess the life status of an airplane part.
a Original Part - For determining compliance with usage related life limitations, the total airplane hours,
landings, or cycles shall be considered appropriate.
b Replacement Part - For determining compliance with usage related life limitations, consider the airplane
hours, landings, or cycles as appropriate, accrued since the logbook verified part installation plus any prior
usage of the replacement part.
2 Identification and Tracking of Life-Limited Parts
a For parts removed from an airplane, the following are suggested methods of tracking life status and
complying with 14 CFR Part 43.
NOTE: This is not an exhaustive list.
• The part may be marked with permanent marker.
• A tag may be attached to the part.
• A record keeping procedure may be established for the part.
b The following data may be used to track the life status of a part.
NOTE: This is not an exhaustive list.
• Airplane Serial Number
• Part Number
• Part Name
• Part Serial Number
