Part 1.1: INTRODUCTION

The foundation of THE SCRAMBLER, as well as this entire


course, is ATTENTION and EMOTION. Women are attracted to
men who capture their attention and affect them on an emotional
level.

Every mistake you’ve previously made with women comes back to


those two things: Either you failed to capture her attention or you
didn’t affect her emotionally.

While the tactics and strategies of THE SCRAMBLER reverse


those past mistakes, it’s crucial you acknowledge your FIRST
MISTAKE:

You allowed YOUR OWN attention and


emotions to sabotage your success!

The exercises in Part 1.2 will help you to take inventory of how
(and where) you “spend” your attention. In Part 1.3, you’ll
practice attractive self-expression by taking a counter-intuitive
approach.
Part 1.2: THE AUTONOMOUS MAN
When it comes to attracting women, your attention is either your
greatest asset or your biggest liability.

ASSESSMENT
Think back to the last few times you had time to yourself: what
did you do?

Assess how you’re using your free time.

Are you:
• Working toward a goal? Empowering yourself?
Developing an expertise?

OR are you:
• Wasting your time? Focusing on other people? Sitting
back and spectating?

Honestly ask yourself:

Are you a MAN or are you a FAN?

A man takes action in “the arena;” a fan sits on the sidelines and
watches others. If you’re a fan, AT BEST a woman will “settle”
for you.
CHALLENGE
Put yourself on an “ATTENTION DIET”

1. Sign out of your social media accounts on your phone and


computer and limit yourself to checking them ONCE per day
(unless doing research/reconnaissance for THE
SCRAMBLER)

2. No porn, television, or videogames for AT LEAST 7


straight days (not even to “reward” yourself or “relieve
stress”)

3. Stop “checking” your email and phone; instead “CHECK


IN” at specific times (i.e., rather than reacting every time a
new message buzzes your phone, put your phone on silent
and stash it away, only to be checked at a pre-decided time)
ACTION STEPS TO DEVELOP AUTONOMY

1. Set an alarm and get up 30-60 minutes earlier to do


something that will directly benefit YOU

2. Set a timer for 20 minutes and focus on NOTHING ELSE but


a specific task (e.g., reading a book)

3. Rather than listen to music, listen to a lecture or educational


podcast

4. Finally do that thing that interests you, but have been putting
off (e.g., sign up for a workshop)
Part 1.3: THE COUNTER-INTUITIVE SOLUTION
Predictable guys are boring.

Predictable guys don’t get women emotional.

Predictable guys are unattractive.

ASSESSMENT

Think about a time a woman said, “I can’t believe you just said
that!”

Was she emotional? ( ) YES ( ) NO

If yes, what emotion do you think she was feeling?

Was she attracted to you? ( ) YES ( ) NO

Think about a time a woman said, “You’re a really nice guy.”

Was she emotional? ( ) YES ( ) NO

If yes, what emotion do you think she was feeling?

Chances are you just proved to yourself how much easier it is to
get a woman emotional by doing something that provokes a
response like, “I can’t believe you just said that!” rather than,
“You’re a really nice guy.”

When a woman says you’re “nice,” what she’s really


saying is, “You’re predictable.”

Nice guys don’t act up.

Nice guys don’t challenge her.

Nice guys don’t excite her.

When a woman complains about dating or sleeping with “jerks,”


“assholes,” or “douche bags,” what she’s really saying is: guys
who act up and challenge her are the guys she finds exciting and
sexy. These are the guys who elicit her emotions—for better or
worse.

FACT: you have a better shot with a girl you pissed off than
a girl who see you as the neighborhood nice guy.
CHALLENGE
The SHOCKER

Say something that’s unpredictably playful/fun in a


mundane situation where a certain behavior or
response is expected

EXAMPLE: The next time a cashier or phone operator


asks you how your day is going, answer in a way they
probably haven’t heard before and see if you can get
them to laugh and/or show some emotion

Practice “The SHOCKER” at least 3 times a day to get


comfortable using unpredictability to elicit emotions in other
people
JOURNAL REFLECTION
Journal about a situation where you “lost” a girl you thought
initially liked you. Try and recall details like:
• What sort of dates/meet ups did you suggest

• What was said during the conversations/text


exchanges (reread the message threads if you have
them)

• How you acted around her

• When/how/if made a move on her

Go back over your journal entry and circle EVERY


predictable move you made

1. Look over everything you circled and ask yourself:


• Why did you take her to that place?

• why did you text her that text?

• why did you make a move they way you did?

If you’re like most guys, the honest answer to the “WHY” behind
your dating strategy (up until now) has been simply because it
“just seemed like the right thing to do.”

Well, that’s about to change. What seemed


“right” doesn't work! You need to try some
counter-intuitive, dawg…
How to Become Autonomous
o As your options grow, so does your
autonomy (Always be Fishing)

o Raise your ambition. Ambition signals high


standards to a woman

o Its easier to control your attention than


your emotions. Put conditions in place to
control your attention
Autonomous: Exercises
o Practice “The Walk Away” and saying “NO”

o Find a Healthy Distraction to immerse


yourself in

o Find a female friend you can get “affection”

o Get Fishing Lines in Many Ponds

o Let it roll off you like water

o Develop a purpose that is higher than girls
