INTRODUCTION TO WORLD RELIGIONS AND BELIEF SYSTEMS
Judaism
Judaism is one of the oldest monotheistic religions, with a rich history and culture
that spans over 3,000 years. It is based on the belief in one God, known as Yahweh
or Jehovah, and the teachings of the Hebrew Bible, also known as the Tanakh.
Christianity
Christianity is a monotheistic Abrahamic religion based on the life, teachings, death,
and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the world's largest religion, with over 2.4
billion adherents, known as Christians.
Key principles of Judaism
1. Monotheism: The belief in one all-powerful, all-knowing God.
2. Covenant: The idea that God formed a special agreement with the
Jewish people, who are expected to follow God's laws and
commandments.
3. Torah: The first five books of the Hebrew Bible, which contain the
core teachings and laws of Judaism.
4. Commandments (Mitzvot): The 613 laws and commandments that
Jews are expected to follow, as outlined in the Torah.
5. Ethics and morality: Judaism places a strong emphasis on ethics and
morality, with a focus on treating others with kindness, respect, and
justice.
Core Beliefs of Christianity
1. Trinity: Christians believe in one God in three persons: the
Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.
2. Jesus Christ: Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God,
fully human and fully divine, who was sent to save humanity
from sin.
3. Salvation: Christians believe that through faith in Jesus
Christ, people can be forgiven of their sins and receive eternal
life.
4. Bible: Christians consider the Bible, consisting of the Old
and New Testaments, to be the inspired word of God.

My experience as a Christian has taught me to follow certain beliefs, such
as the 10 Commandments, which were shared by the Lord for His children, "My experience as a Catholic is that whenever I attend Mass, I feel a sense of
brothers, sisters, and relatives to follow. Being a Christian has brought me comfort and joy in my heart. As I worship and put my faith in God, I am able to
seek forgiveness for my sins. When I receive Communion and take the host, I
joy because of these beliefs. It has also helped me become more God-

CYRILLE CATAM
"As a Christian, I can say that it's a wonderful feeling
to serve and praise Him with all my heart. It not only
makes my day complete, but it also fills my heart with
a joy that no one can match.
The lessons taught in this subject have opened my
eyes to the importance of understanding my own
religion."
