For application area or app-specific deviations, please check the additional notes documented in the app’s

SAP Fiori front-end server 5.0 runs as Add-On on AS ABAP or S/4HANA or ABAP FND ON HANA and
delivers the required stack definition and - if different from the underlying AS ABAP stack definition - the UI
related software components for AS ABAP required to run SAP Fiori apps.
Note: SAP User Interface Technology (and SAP Gateway Foundation) are also part the AS ABAP stack, but
with a different stack definition, not suitable for SAP Fiori apps.
From AS ABAP 7.52 on, SAP Gateway Foundation is not part of the FES stack definition anymore and can be

System Landscape Recommendations
SAP Fiori Frontend Server can be installed in the following ways:
1. Embedded deployment: The front-end server is deployed into the SAP Business Suite or SAP S/4HANA
backend system directly (typical for S/4 HANA).
2. Hub single backend deployment: A dedicated AS ABAP based Fiori Front-end Server is deployed "in front
of" one one S/4HANA (SAP Business Suite) backend system. (Typical for independent and high load
setups)
3. Hub multi backend deployment: A dedicated SAP Fiori Front-end Server is deployed "in front of" several
backend systems (typical for SAP Business Suite).
General Installation, Upgrade and Update Recommendations
Always use SAP Maintenance Planner to set up installations, upgrades (higher product version) and updates
(higher software component versions).

SAP FIORI FRONT-END SERVER Configuration


You require SAP Fiori front-end server 5.0 (front-end server: NW 7.51 SP06 or higher). SAP Fiori front-end
server 5.0 contains the following components with the respective versions:
1. SAP Gateway Foundation (software component version SAP Gateway FOUNDATION 7.51 SP06 or
higher)
2. User Interface Technology (software component version USER INTERFACE TECHNOLOGY 7.53)
3. UI for Basis Applications (software component version UI FOR BASIS APPLICATIONS 400) - containing
SAP NetWeaver Fiori Apps
The SAP Fiori apps for SAP S/4HANA delivered with the product SAP Fiori for SAP S/4HANA (SAP FIORI
FOR SAP S/4HANA 1809).

The SAP Fiori frontend server can be installed along with a SAP S/4HANA backend server (embedded
deployment) or Hub deployment. This document is based on embedded deployment, for installation of SAP
Fiori with SAP S4HANA refer my installation of S4HANA with SAP Fiori.

After installation and other post steps you have you to configure the SAP Fiori launchpad, follow below
procedure to configure Fiori for S4HANA 1809.

Executing Task lists for Embedded Deployment


Below two tasks needs to be executed for embedded deployment
1. SAP_GW_FIORI_ERP_ONE_CLNT_SETUP
2. SAP_ESH_INITIAL_S ETUP_WRK_CLIENT
Run Task List (transaction STC01): SAP_GW_FIORI_ERP_ONE_CLNT_SETUP
This task list should be executed for embedded deployment scenario and consists of below sub tasks
SAP_GATEWAY_BASIC_CONFIG - Activating SAP Gateway
SAP_FIORI_LAUNCHPAD_INIT_SETUP - Setup of SAP Fiori Launchpad
