FORMAT
Format is uniform across the levels: Kindergarten, Primary 1, Primary 2, Primary 3, Primary 4, Primary 5, and
Primary 6. Kindergarten students are asked to solve 15 problems in 45 minutes and primary students are
asked to solve 25 problems in 90 minutes. Students write their responses on an answer sheet. Questions
are arranged in a way that the first ones are the easier ones, then the level of difficulty gradually increases
so that the last questions are the more difficult ones.
Kindergarten – Paper K: 3 marks each are contained by Questions 1-10 and 4 marks each by Questions 11-
15, making a full score of 50. If a participant leaves a question unanswered, that question will be marked '0'. There
is no penalty/deduction for wrong answer.
Primary 1 to 6 – Paper 1 to 6: 3 marks each are contained by Questions 1-10, 4 marks each by Questions 11-
20 and 6 marks each by Free-Response Questions 21-25, making a full score of 100. If a participant leaves a question
unanswered, that question will be marked '0'. There is no penalty/deduction for wrong answer.
AWARDS
Individual Top scorers will receive Gold (top 5% Globally), Silver (next 10% Globally), Bronze (next 15% Globally)
and Merit (next 20% Globally) awards. Others will each get an e-Certificate of Participation.
Top Global Top three global scorers in each grade level will be inducted to the JMMC Hall of Fame and top
gold winner awards.
PREPARATION
To help prepare for JMMC you can download sample JMMC Questions, Answer Sheets and Full Solutions from
www.jmmc-official.org sample papers provide an ideal opportunity for students to develop familiarity with
the style of the papers and gain valuable experience answering real questions. We recommend that students
practise JMMC papers 'under exam conditions' (e.g. timing).
