Ship Stat Blocks
A ship’s Strength represents its size and weight. Dexterity represents a ship’s ease of
Handling. A ship’s Constitution covers its durability and the quality of its construction.
Ship parts have individual AC and HP. If the Hull is destroyed, the ship sinks. If one
Control part is destroyed, turning the ship to any degree consumes 100% of the ship's
movement speed, and it takes two actions to turn 180 degrees. If both Control parts are
destroyed, the ship cannot turn at all until at least one part is repaired to full hit points. If
the Movement part is destroyed, the ship cannot move until it is repaired to full hit
points. Any weapons that are destroyed need to be repaired/replaced at a port. By
default, attacks to a ship target the ship’s hull. Control and Movement parts must be
specifically targeted to be attacked. A ship is considered incapacitated if its movement
and at least one control part have been destroyed. Calculate a ship’s speed for combat
purposes by multiplying its Travel Pace by 10. For example, a Sloop has a movement
speed of 120 feet in combat. Weapons are fixed with a limited range of motion;
broadside cannons are positioned on the left or the right of the ship and can only target
creatures and objects that are roughly parallel to the ship. Swivel/Chase cannons are
positioned on the front (chase) or back (Swivel) of the ship, and can only target
creatures and objects roughly perpendicular to the ship.
