RECHILLING FRESH MILK

IF FRESH MILK TEMPERATURE IN SILO IS HIGER THAN 8 °C, WE HAVE TO RECHIL IT

1) Prepare the fresh milk silo and pipe


a) Check cleanliness of Manhole covers, Gaskets, Lines & Tank/Tanks concerned.
b) Disconnect the CIP connection to the spray ball and blank the opening.
c) Re fix the sampling coke screw.
d) Place the manhole cover gasket properly and close the manhole.
e) Connect the hook up plate FM-02/03/04/05 (fresh milk to be chilled) as per diagram 1
f) Connect the hook up plate FM-02/03/04/05 (store chilled milk) as per diagram 2
g) Open inlet butterfly valve to the tank concerned.
h) Open valve 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 of the Christmas tree (unloading milk to silo). Make sure no two valves in
the same vertical or horizontal line in the Christmas Tree are open at the same time. (see
OPI/LIQ/PROD/010)
i) Connect the rechilling line with unloading line using hose pipe
j) Open bowser unloading valve and close balance vat unloading valve.
k) Make sure the chill water pump is running, Chill water valves are open & Chill water temperature 3°C.
Any deviations must be brought in to notice of the Production Assistant concerned.
l) Open the flow regulating butterfly valve about 30%.
2) Collect the drip sample in clean container
3) Start rechilled
a) Open the Needle Valve on the Filter Assembly to deaeriate the line, in order to prime the pump.
b) Start the unloading pump
c) Regulate the flow to achieve a chilling less than 5°C.
