BROCHURE I.P PREPARATION

Opening Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, We come before You with open hearts, grateful for this moment and the
opportunity to gather together. We ask for Your presence to surround us, to guide our thoughts, and to
bless the time we share. May Your wisdom fill our minds and Your peace fill our spirits. Grant us
understanding, kindness, and the strength to carry out Your will in all that we do. Amen.

The Ten Commandments:

1. I am the Lord your God: you shall not have other gods before me.

This commandment reminds us that God is the one true deity. We should place no other gods above Him.
Our loyalty and devotion must be solely directed to Him. By doing so, we maintain a strong relationship
with our Creator, who is deserving of our highest honor. If we choose to worship other gods, we risk
losing our spiritual connection to the true God.

2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

This commandment teaches us to treat God's name with the utmost respect. Using God's name carelessly
or disrespectfully is considered a sin. We should only use His name in prayer or worship, where it is
appropriate. When we call upon God, it must be in reverence and sincerity. If we misuse His name, we
dishonor the holiness and power it represents.

3. Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day.

The Lord's Day, or Sabbath, is a time for rest and spiritual reflection. It is important to set aside time for
worship and reflection on God's greatness. This day should not be filled with work or distractions, but
dedicated to honoring God. When we keep the Sabbath holy, we honor God and recharge spiritually. By
resting, we also follow God’s example of creating and resting in the world.

4. Honor your father and mother.

Honoring our parents is one of the most fundamental teachings in the Bible. When we honor them, we
reflect the love and respect God has for us. This commandment is not only about respect but also
obedience to those who care for us. By respecting our parents, we are learning to honor authority in all
aspects of life. This commandment promises us that honoring our parents will lead to a long and
prosperous life.

5. You shall not kill.

Life is sacred and should be protected at all costs. The act of taking someone's life is an offense against
both humanity and God. We are called to value each person’s life as a creation of God. While there are
many causes for anger and conflict, violence is never the answer. Even in times of strife, we must seek
peace rather than harm.

6. You shall not commit adultery.

Marriage is a sacred bond between two people. Adultery breaks this bond and goes against the
commitment made before God. Our faithfulness in marriage reflects our faithfulness to God. When we
dishonor our spouses, we dishonor God’s covenant with us. Respect and loyalty in marriage bring glory to
God and build stronger relationships.

7. You shall not steal.

Taking something that belongs to someone else is wrong. We must respect other people's property and not
covet their possessions. Stealing disrupts peace and fairness in society. It is not just a legal issue; it is a
moral one that goes against God’s command. When we refrain from stealing, we honor God’s law and
live with integrity.

8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Lying and spreading falsehoods damages relationships and harms others. The truth is powerful and should
never be compromised. When we speak falsely about others, we are acting against God’s love for truth.
Slander and gossip can destroy reputations and hurt people deeply. We must be honest and kind in all our
dealings with others.

9 You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.

Coveting someone else’s spouse leads to desire, jealousy, and potential betrayal. God calls us to be
content with what we have, not to long for others’ relationships. It’s essential to maintain purity in thought
and action. If we love and respect our own spouses, we will not fall into temptation. Contentment and
trust in God’s plan protect us from the harm of envy.
10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.

This commandment teaches us not to be envious of others’ possessions. Desiring things that do not belong
to us leads to dissatisfaction and greed. We must focus on the blessings we have, not the material things of
others. When we covet, we lose sight of the true value of what God has given us. Instead, we should be
content and trust in God’s provision for us.
