USSR STATE STANDARD
1. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
1.1. The suits shall be made in accordance with the requirements of this Standard,
industrial procedures for manufacturing working clothes, Uniform Industrial Collection of
Models of Women’s Suits for Protection Against General Industrial Pollution and Mechanical
Effects, approved sample and the model description approved in accordance with the
established procedure.
1.2. Key parameters and dimensions:
1.2.1. The dimensions of suits shall conform to the height and bust of a model human
figure specified in tables 1 and 2.

1.2.2. The dimensions of ready suits shall conform to those specified in table 3 and in

Note. A reduction of dimension 4 in trousers and dungarees by no more than 2.0 cm is allowed at
the customer's request when agreed upon with the Central Committee of the appropriate trade union.
1.3. Characteristics:
1.3.1. The suit design shall conform to the basic designs of women’s working clothes.
1.3.2. Making suits on models that have not been specified by Uniform Industrial
Collection of Women’s Suits is allowed at the customer's request with the agreement of the
Central Committee of the appropriate trade union.
1.3.3. Depending on the manufacturing conditions and the agreement of the manufacturer
and the customer, the suits shall be made:
with different types, dimensions, number and location of reinforcing strips and ventilation
openings and without them;
complete with an additional trouser belt made of the main cloth;
complete with headgear;
with a skirt or trouser clasp in the left side seam;
as separate items.

Notes:
1. Using materials of various fibrous composition and other accessories, whose quality is no worse
then specified in table 4 is allowed when agreed upon between the manufacturer and the customer and
the Central Committee of the appropriate trade union.
2. The accessories shall be able to withstand dry cleaning and heat treatment.
3. The materials specified in points 10 and 11 shall be used in making suits until 01.01.91.
1.3.5. In making suits, the main material or tape shall be used for making tabs and for
finishing the upper edges of pockets, and the main material or bodice tape shall be used for
finishing the lining of the belt of trousers, dungarees or skirts.
1.3.6. Classification and types of stitches and seams used in making suits shall comply
with GOST 12807-79.
The requirements for stitches and seams shall comply with GOST 12.4.116-82.
1.3.7. Ready suits shall be graded in accordance with GOST 12.4.031-84.

The suits shall be marked in accordance with GOST 10581-82 and GOST 12.4.115-82;
suits made in accordance with a State Order shall be marked in accordance with
GOST 19159-85.
1.5. Packing:
The suits shall be packed in accordance with GOST 10581-82, suits made in accordance
with a State Order shall be packed in accordance with GOST 19159-85.
2. ACCEPTANCE
Acceptance procedure of suits shall comply with GOST 23948-80.
3. QUALITY MONITORING
The quality of suits shall be monitored in accordance with GOST 4103-82.
