Cast on 8 stitches.
Place a marker at the beginning of the round and again after 4 stitches.

your work measures approx. 7 in straight down from the cast on edge.

hood.
Remember the edging stitches.

Now increase like this:

2nd row: 1 Ed st, knit 1, yarn over, knit 79 = 82 stitches
3rd row: 1 Ed st, knit 1, yarn over, knit 80 = 83 stitches

Continue increasing like this until the edge measures approx. 28 in and you have 208
stitches on your needles. This is the middle of your work.

Now decrease whilst continuing the pattern on the edges:

1st row: Ed st 1, knit 1, yarn over, knit 3 together through the back loop, knit the remainder of
the row

Repeat this row until you have 7 stitches left.

Now knit the following:

1st row: 1 Ed st, knit 1, slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over, knit 2 together, knit 2
2nd row: 1 Ed st, knit 2 together, knit 2
