Coronary Arteries Anatomy

The coronary arteries are essential blood vessels that supply oxygenated blood to the heart muscle, with the right and left coronary arteries being the primary vessels. The right coronary artery primarily supplies the right ventricle and parts of the left ventricle, while the left coronary artery supplies the anterior and lateral portions of the left ventricle. Each artery has specific branches that further distribute blood to various heart regions, making them crucial for heart function.

1.

coronary arteries are a network of blood vessels that supply oxygenated

blood to the heart muscle ( myocardium )

2. there are two primary arteries in the heart and the heart is supplied by the
right and left coronary artery.

3. the coronary arteries arise from the aortic root specifically from the left
and right arotic sinus of valsava.

blood supplies of right and left coronary artery :-

📌 the right coronary artery supply blood to :-

RV
FREE WALL OF
( ANTERIOR AND POSTERIOR PARTS )

LV
OF
POSTERIOR PART
INCLUDING
POSTERIOR DESCENDING ARTERY (PDA)
AND
POSTEROLATERAL BRANCHES

📌 the left coronary artery supply blood to :-

**left ventricle of anterior portion of the :-

LADA
SUPPLIES THE
ANTERIOR
AND
ANTEROSEPTAL WALLS OF LV

**left ventricle of lateral portion of the :-

Lcx
SUPPLIES THE
LATERAL
AND
POSTEROLATERAL WALLS OF LV

Branches of left and right coronary arteries :-

📌 right coronary artery branches :-

* OSTIUM :- RCA- ARISES FROM - RIGHT AORTIC SINUS OF VALSAVA

:- APPROXIMATELY 1-2 MM ABOVE THE AORTIC VALVE
ANNULUS.

* right main trunk :- initial segment measuring 1-20 mm in length.

:- divides into branches of -

1) acute marginal artery (AM) - supply RV free wall and
inferior wall.

2) posterior descending artery (PDA) - supply posterior wall

of RV and posterior one-third of interventricular septum.

3) conal artery (CA) - supply the RV outflow tract and the

conus region.

4) posterior left ventricular branch (PLV) - supply the LV of

posterior wall.

THESE BRANCHES SUPPLY BLOOD TO THE RV,RA AND PARTS OF THE

LV MAKING THE RCA A VITAL ARTERY FOR THE HEART FUNCTION.

📌 Left coronary artery branches :-

* OSTIUM :- LCA - ARISE FROM - LEFT AORTIC SINUS OF VALSAVA

:- APPROXIMATELY 1-2 MM ABOVE THE AORTIC VALVE
ANNULUS.

* left main trunk :- initial segment measuring 1-10 mm in length.

:- divides into branches of -

1) left anterior descending artery (LADA) - supply blood to
anterior wall of LV.
- It is the most
imp artery.

**IT further divides into branches of -

1. diagonal artery - supply anterolateral wall of LV.

2. septal artery - supply interventricular septum.

2) left circumflex artery (Lcx) - supply blood to lateral and

posterolateral walls of LV.
**It further divides into branches of -
3. left marginal artery (LM) - supply lateral wall of LV.

4. obtuse marginal artery (OM) - supply posterolateral wall of LV.

THESE BRANCHES SUPPLY BLOOD TO THE LV,LA AND

INTERVENTRICULAR SEPTUM MAKING LCA A VITAL ARTERY FOR THE
HEART FUNCTION.
