1. The Students of VI sem actively participated in “Mobile Making” Workshop for 2 days
on 19th March 2019 and 20th March 2019.The resource person was Sri. Shubham Raut,
Sr.Design Engineer, ITG, IIT,Mumbai.50 students had participated in this workshop.
2. The Students of VII sem actively participated in 5 days hands-on workshop on “DSP
Applications using MATLAB & DSP Processor” in association with Abeyaantrix
softlab,Davangere from 21st to 25th Oct 2019 under EC forum.

“NAIN” Incubation center is created at ISE Dept., BIET Davangere.

by the Teaching Learning Centre(ICT) at IIT Bombay,funded by the Pandit Madan
Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Traning(PMMMNMTT).
3. A “One day workshop on eSim,a first course in the IoT series for Teachers" held at BIET
in IS & E Dept. on 21st Sep 2019 organised by the by the Teaching Learning Centre(ICT)
at IIT Bombay,funded by the Pandit Madan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and
Traning (PMMMNMTT),MHRD,Govt.of India.26 faculties from JIT Davangere-
3,PESIT Shimoga-2, BLDEA's V P Dr PG Halakatti College of Engineering &
Technology Bijapur-1,BIET Davangere-20.
4. Dr.G.S.Sunitha,Prof. and HOD presented a research paper entitled “A Survey on
Architectures of MAC units for DSP Applications”, European Journal of Advances in
Engineering and Technology (EJAET), ISSN: 2394 - 658X, 6(4) pp.36-39 , 2019.
5. Kiran Kumar G.H presented a research paper entitled “Performance Evaluation of
Compressive of Multi-resolution PPG signals under WBAN environment” in
International Journal of Innovative Technology and Exploring Engineering
(IJITEE),ISSN:2278-3075(ONLINE),Volume-8 Issue 11,Sep 2019.

3.4 Extension Activities

3.4.1 Number of extension and outreach programmes conducted in


collaboration with industry, community and Non- Government
Organisations through NSS/NCC/Red cross/Youth Red Cross (YRC) etc.,
during the year

1. Nelamma Belagavi Cup, popularly known as NB Cup 2019, an intra-college cricket


tournament and throw-ball was inaugurated by Dr.Aravind H.B, Principal,
Dr.G.S.Sunitha Prof. and Head, E & CE Dept, Coordinators, faculties and students
attended the function on 7th March 2019. NB Cup winners are from VI sem Civil Engg.
and runners are from VIII sem Civil Engg students.Throw-ball winners are from Textile
Engg. and runners are from Computer Science Engg.Dept. students.
2. “PAPYRUS 2019”- A state level technical paper presentation for UG and PG students in
association with ISTE student chapter, BIET, Davangere, was organized by the
Department on 12th Apr 2019. 36 teams from different colleges of the state participated
and two parallel sessions were conducted in two venues, Aryabhata Seminar hall and
K.S. Kirankumar Seminar hall. Smt. Pushpalatha, Asst. Professor E&CE, JIT and Smt.
Suma K G, Asst. Professor E&CE, BIET judged at first venue. Mr. Ravikumar, Asst.
Professor, E&CE, JIT and Miss. Bhuvaneshwari, Asst. Professor, ISE Dept, BIET judged
at second venue. Two best papers from each venue were awarded with a cash prize of
Rs.1000/- for winners and Rs.500/- for runners, momentos and certificates was issued by
Dr. G.S.Sunitha, Prof. and Head, E & CE Dept. and the judges.
3. Cognition, a State level MINI-PROJECT exhibition in association with IETE student
chapter,BIET,Davangere was organized by the Department for UG students on 12 th Apr
2019. The event was judged by Sri R.D.Shivananda, Professor, Dept of CS&E, and Sri
G.M. Shivakumarasmy,Asst. Professor, E&E, BIET. 36 teams from different colleges of
the state participated. A cash prize of Rs.1000/- for winners and Rs.500/- for runners,
momentos and certificates was issued by Dr. G.S.Sunitha, Prof. and Head, E & CE Dept.
and the judges.

3.4.3 Students participating in extension activities with Government


Organisations, Non-Government Organisations and programmes such as
Swachh Bharat, Aids Awareness, Gender Issue, etc. during the year

1. A session on “Heart fullness Meditation” was conducted by Dr. Siddeshwaran, MDS,


College of Dental Sciences, Davangere, from 5 th to 7th Mar 2019 under IETE
forum.Under the guidance of Dr.G.S.Sunitha,Prof.and HOD,the event was co-ordinated
by Nirmala S.O, Associate Professor.82 Students and 21 faculties actively participated in
this program.
2. “Assistive Health Technology and Role of Engineers” for skill development,
rehabilitation and empowerment of persons with disabilities on 6 th Nov 2019 in
association with CRC Davangere. Under the guidance of Dr.G.S.Sunitha,Prof.and HOD
the event was co-ordinated by Dr.Jayadevappa B.M,Professor. The resource person was
Dr.Ranjith Kumar, Composite Regional Center, Davangere. 70 Students and 21 faculty
actively participated in this program
