It is the responsibility of schools to teach children good behaviour in addition to

providing formal education. Do you agree or disagree?

Use your own knowledge and experience to support your arguments with examples and
relevant evidence.
Young generations are the driving force behind the evolution of humankind toward
prosperity and wealthiness, and the efficiency of educational methodology has long been
debated. It is argued that it is vital for academic institutions to educate the young about ethics
and morals besides the learning of knowledge and facts. From my perspective, I completely
agree with this standpoint, for which the reasons will be elucidated on in this essay.
First, the acquisition of facts and knowledge allows students to have a better
understanding of their surroundings. By studying science subjects such as math, chemistry or
physics, youngsters can develop multiple cognitive skills such as logical reasoning, critical
thinking and problem-solving skill, all of which are important qualities to a stable and
successful career. Furthermore, formal education offers the young with certifications and
qualifications. This is crucial to a higher chance of employment regarding the competitive
nature of the labor market, as such accomplishments are evident of a person’s ability and
proficiency in one particular field or profession. To illuminate, in the demanding domain of
nursing, a nurse with qualification in practical, hand-on skills such as patient assessment and
medication administration skills will certainly receive the interest of hospitals and healthcare
facilities, enhancing her career status and thus leading to a successful career.
Second, educating youngsters about appropriate behaviors and conducts can provide
them with a set of practical interpersonal skills, namely communication skills, motivating,
empathy and respect for others, all of which are vital elements to construct a friendly learning
environment, in which social relationship, harmony and altruism are encouraged. Moreover, a
successful career does not only consist of cognitive skills, it requires an individual to connect
and work with others to accomplish the extraordinary. Indeed, given the role of collaboration
in working places, corporations are looking out for potential employees exhibiting great
social skills to promote a positive working condition. For example, nurses who have skills in
communication and empathy will stand higher chance to get employed, for their abilities to
take care of patients and keep them in company.
Furthermore, teaching children about moral aspects is pivotal to their well-rounded
development and the conservation of upstanding ethical standards. Human distinguishes
himself from other species for his ability to love, to show love and empathy, to tell right from
wrong, to respect other people. Such moralities are contributory to current peace, prosperity
and wealthiness of modern’s society. Therefore, teaching teenager to learn how to conduct
themselves appropriately and consider ethical values will help the young develop their
personality, altruism and idiosyncrasy.
In conclusion, I am wholeheartedly convinced that a comprehensive curriculum in
which children are educated about righteous behaviors along acquiring knowledge are pivotal
to their well-rounded development and career path, extending further into the conversation of
man’s moral and ethical values for the aforementioned reasons.
