Any Woman is a beautiful poem written by the famous poet Katharine Tynan. The main theme of
the poem is the important role of a mother. The poet describes the value of a mother in a house
and her love towards her children

The poet says Mother is the pillar and keystone of the house. This means she is the integral part
of the house. Without a mother, the family will lose its unity, just like the ruined house without
pillars and keystones. She makes the house alive there is no happy family without her. She
provides pure love for her children and provides them what they want and make them good
children. the children can't grow without her. Her care and love hold her children in the family and
show them right path

Mother does all the activities in a house, All aspects of the house are connected with the mother.
And she stands as a barrier and protects her children from all problems. She stands as a
safeguard of the family. In the last part of the poem, the mother prays to god, To not take her till
her children grow. It shows her utmost love towards her children.

Any Woman is a poem with simple and clear language. But The poem conveys a strong content.
The poem contains 6 stanzas and each stanza contains 4 lines. The poem is in rhyme. The
rhyme scheme of the poem is ABAB, except the first stanza. The poem brings many images of a
mother to our mind. The poet has used many figure of speech such as Metaphor, simile, etc to
beautify the poem. The poem has a strong message. The message of the poem is the need of
protecting our dear mothers. Any woman is an Evergreen poem that it's importance never fades. I
think It's a must-read poem by all. All should understand its meaning.
