Scenerio 1: Breaking the Ice


Characters:
• Alex (Labadan) - New student
• Emma (Jose) - Classmate
• Sophie (Larede) – Classmate

Scene:
After class, Alex walks out of the school building and notices Emma and Sophie
chatting near the gate. He hesitates for a moment, then approaches them.
Alex: Hey, sorry to disturb you! I’m Alex, your new classmate and I was hoping if
you guys can help me?

Emma: Oh, uh, sure, how can we help you?

Alex: I was hoping if you guys can share some of the lessons that was discussed, I want to
caught up.

Emma: Oh, of course! We were just talking about today's lessons, actually.

Sophie: Yeah, we can share notes!

Alex: That would be amazing! Thank you very much!

Emma: How about we go have a study group together.

Sophie: Yeah, would be nice and helpful.

Alex: Thank you again.

Emma: You're welcome!


Scenerio 2: The New Journey Outside
Characters:
• Jess (Jose) - Tourist
• Mia (Larede) - Native
• Chris (Labadan) - Staff

Scene:
Jess boards the plane and settles into her seat for the eight-hour journey. She notices the
passenger beside her, Mia, is a native of the country she is visiting. Wanting to ask for directions
from the airport, Jess starts the conversation despite the language barrier.

Jess: Hi! I’m Jess. This is my first time visiting your country.

Mia: Ah… hello. I am Mia. First time?

Jess: Yes! I am excited. But… I need help. How to go from the airport to the city?

Mia: Ah… airport… taxi? Bus?

Jess then gestures a hand motion of driving a car.

Jess: Taxi? Good? Expensive?

Mia:Yes, taxi fast… but much money. Bus… cheap.

Jess struggles to understand but nods in appreciation. At that moment, a staff passes by.

Jess: Excuse me, do you know if the airport has signs in English?

Chris: Yes, the airport has English signs.

Jess: That’s great! Thank you! Maybe bus is better?

Mia: Yes. I help?

Jess: That'd be great, thank you!

Scenerio 3: Easing the Nerves
Characters:
• Hannah (Larede) – A job applicant
• Sam (Labadan) – Another applicant
• Lisa (Jose) – another applicant

Scene:
Hannah arrives at the interview location and sees a long queue of applicants. Feeling nervous,
she decides to start a conversation with the people ahead of her.

Hannah: Wow, this line is longer than I expected. This will take a while.

Sam: Yeah, tell me about it. I’ve been here for almost an hour already.

Lisa: But atleast it gives us time to prepare.

Hannah: True. I’m Hannah, by the way.

Sam: Nice to meet you! I’m Sam. Yeah, first time. You?

Hannah: Same here. To be honest, I’m a bit nervous. Do you guys have any idea what the
questions are?

Lisa: I heard that they ask about your work experience and problem-solving skills.

Sam: Yeah, and one guy mentioned how can handle customers or guests.

Hannah: That’s great. Maybe we can help each other with possible answers while we wait?

Lisa: That sounds like a good idea.

Sam: Yeah, let’s do it. It’ll help us feel more prepared.
