Min 1/2/25: Opening Remarks
The meeting was called to order by Dekow Ismail Hassan (Chairperson) at 2:00 P.M. The
chairperson welcomed all attendees and highlighted the purpose of the meeting, which was to
discuss the need for a new sub-location in Koru Village due to its growing population.
Min 2/2/25: Justification for the Request
The secretary presented a report indicating that Koru Village now has a population exceeding
2,500 residents, which has increased the demand for administrative services.
Residents face difficulties accessing government services due to the long distance to the current
sub-location headquarters. There is a need for better security coordination and improved
governance within the community. The establishment of a new sub-location would enhance
service delivery, facilitate development projects, and strengthen law enforcement.
Min 3/2/25. Community Concerns and Contributions
Community members expressed their strong support for the proposal, citing challenges in
accessing identification services, dispute resolution mechanisms, and other essential
administrative services. The attendees emphasized that the existing sub-location is overstretched,
making it difficult to cater to the growing population.
Some members proposed the possible locations for the new sub-location headquarters,
suggesting sites with available public land.
Min 4/2.25. Resolutions and Way Forward
It was unanimously agreed that a formal request would be drafted and submitted to the relevant
authorities, including the area chief, sub-county administrator, and county commissioner. A
petition signed by community members will accompany the request to show collective support.
A committee was formed to oversee the progress of the request, including follow-ups with
government offices. The community will mobilize resources where necessary to support the
establishment of the sub-location.
5. Closing Remarks
The chairperson appreciated all members for their participation and encouraged unity in pursuing
the request. The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 P.M, with a commitment to reconvene for
updates on progress.
