Day 2: Research and Data Collection

After considering my Day 1 outline on gender inequality, I conducted research and gathered
data to support my argument. To maintain accuracy and reliability, I focused on primary
sources, namely government reports, which provide concrete data on how gender
inequality affects society and individuals. Also, I consulted secondary sources, including
respected sites, to investigate the contributions of significant leaders who both upheld
gender inequality and actively struggled for gender equality. After considering my Day 1

Statics 2:

Gender inequality is a social issue because it has caused discrimination and exclusion of
women, and people from social, political, and economic life. It has also blocked women
from leadership roles and has led to an increase in gender-based violence.

Social Change: Gender inequality has led to social change by shifts in social or cultural
norms, policies, and power structures. Gender inequality drives social movements, such
as the women's suffrage movement and feminist movements, that challenge the norms
that exist and push for equal rights, leading to a huge legal and social change.

Deviance:

Gender inequality can be connected to the labeling theory because often of the times,
societies label those who challenge traditional gender roles as deviant

informational. This research shall enable me to expound on such topics as an overview of
how gender inequality affects the economy, how it affects individual health, and what
people in societies have done to stand up for solutions to this issue.
