Description of the Activity

Supreme Pupil Government Rally and Election for School Year 2022-2023 was conducted through
manual voting on September 14 and 15.

Highlights (Insights / relevant learning / issues and concerns):

To follow the calendar of activities for the election of SPG/SSG on September 5-16,
2022, Gabu Elementary School conducted the said election on September 15, 2022. As
stipulated in the Interim Guidelines of the Youth Commission on Elections and Appointments
(Youth COMEA), SPG is one of the organizations covered by the commission. The Youth COMEA
announced the schedules, guidelines, and details about the election.
Thus, 20 learners were aspiring to lead and wanted to become members or officers of
the organization. Two parties (Start Party and Team Ferson Party) prepared and delivered their
speeches during the rally on September 14, 2022. They were given 5 school days to campaign
and ended before Election Day (September 15, 2022) . Hence, the rally was planned and all of
the required documents were included in DepEd order No. or the Guidelines in Implementing
the SPG Elections for SY 2022-2023 were submitted.
The said activity was done manually. The voters cast votes in three (3) precincts (Gr.4-
6 rooms). Mr. Crisanto R. Oroceo, Principal I, served as the SPG COMELEC Chairperson,
Mrs. Mariel S. Sina, SPG Adviser and SPG COMELEC Member. Likewise, Mrs. Zylpha
D. Balagot, Mrs. Elena G. Calano, Mrs. April Jane Adviento, Mrs. Madelene R.
Suguitan, Mr. Reynante A. Lorenzo, Mrs. Nena R. Saturnino, Mrs. Geraldine R. Cortez
and Ms. Mercedes T . Tungpalan, served as the EB Members during the election.

Recommendations:
We recommend to do the election through online so that learners will experience casting
the votes using tablets, or laptops given or issued by the office. Though we made the election
easier, some pupils were not able to read some of the names of the candidates. Fortunately,
the election was successfully done, smoothly and efficiently.
