About The University
Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, is a prestigious
central university established in 1996, named after Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian

About the Department
The Department of Education is established under the School of Education to provide dynamic,
techno-savvy future-oriented individuals with Indigenous thoughts who are ready to lead the nation to
new heights. The department is dedicated to the goals of integrating technology and Indian philosophy
and culture and aims to develop an inclusive cordial atmosphere that provides a platform for nurturing
the inherent talents of individuals. The department provides academic programs that reiterate innovative
teaching, experiential and participatory learning, blended learning, community engagements, and
extensions. The curriculum is redesigned, restructured, and revamped in the light of NEP-2020 with
special emphasis on the Indian Knowledge System. At the same time, efforts are underway to implement
programs ranging from Bachelor, Master, and PhD in the discipline of education.
About the Workshop
Teaching and research go hand in hand, and the quality of research that a researcher undertakes
will improve the quality of education. The proposed research methodology course is a platform to teach
and give hands-on training to researchers from Education. The workshop will attempt to familiarize
research scholars with various methods and techniques applied in qualitative and quantitative
Educational Research. The workshop will be interactive incorporating group work, interactive lectures,
discussions, presentations, and excursions to offer background, theoretical aspects, as well as practical
approaches. Specifically, the formulation of the research problem, and research question, conducting a
literature review, research designs and formulation of the research hypothesis and testing of the
hypothesis, tool construction, data collection methods, selection of appropriate parametric or non-
parametric statistical techniques for analyzing data, and report writing.
Objectives
The main objective of this workshop is to have interaction regarding various dimensions of social
science research, especially its methodology part.
1. To understand the key principles and types of research methodology.
2. To learn how to formulate clear and focused research hypotheses and research questions.
3. To develop skills in conducting comprehensive literature reviews.
4. To develop proper understanding to select appropriate research methods for different studies.
5. To understand the data collection techniques and tools for research.
6. To develop the ability to analyse and interpret research data.
7. To understand ethical considerations and best practices in research design and reporting.
