Daisy’s Nine Square Crochet Along 2019

Square 2 – Four Squared

This week we are playing with making circles into squares, just four of them, but I’ve given you two
different patterns. As always, it’s up to you where you change colour, unless otherwise directed.
Special stitches
Popcorn – dc4 stitches in the same stitch, remove your hook, pass it through the first dc, pick up
the loop from the last stitch, yo, pull through the loop and ch1 before moving on, it will be the ch1
that is the stitch you count for the following round
Cable – skip one stitch, in the next three sts dc, dc back into the previously skipped stitch

Circle 1
1. ch2, dc12 into 2nd ch from hook, or make a magic loop and work 12 dc into the loop, keep
your colour, join with slst to first dc (12 sts)
2. ch3 (counts as dc) dc in same st, dc2 in each st around, join with slst to 3rd ch of beginning
ch3 (24 sts)
3. ch3 (counts as bpdc), bpdc around same stitch *bpdc, bpdc2 around next st* repeat to end,

Join all four of your squares together. With right (or good) sides facing, work a sc through both
back loops, sc into the corners too.
We will now do a sc round all the way around the block, with a sc in each chsp join, and in the
corners you will (sc1 ch2 sc1) – 96 sts each side
