Possible Question

The study titled 'First Aid Awareness and Disaster Response Among Criminology Students' investigates the relationship between first aid awareness (independent variable) and disaster response (dependent variable) among criminology students from three private schools in Digos City. Utilizing purposive and random sampling methods, the research employs a 20-item survey and statistical tools like weighted mean scores and Pearson product moment correlation to analyze the data. The findings aim to highlight the preparedness level of students in emergency situations, emphasizing the need for improved first aid training and disaster risk reduction awareness.

POSSIBLE QUESTIONS

1. What is the tittle of the study?

- FIRST AID AWARENESS AND DISASTER RESPONSE AMONG CRIMINOLOGY STUDENTS
2. What are the variables?
- FIRST AID AWARENESS ( INDEPENDENT VARIABLE ) need pag further response or result that
is why dili sya maka stand alone
- DISASTER RESPONSE ( DEPENDENT VARIABLE ) maka stand alone ra siya bisag siya ra.
3. Who are the respondents?
- Criminology students in 3 private school in digos city (cjc, pcds, umdc)
4. How will you choose them?
- By choosing random criminology students per year
5. What is your survey? Items how many?
- Our survey questions has 20 items in each variable
6. Why will you use this statistical tool?
- Para makuha namo ang weighted average score sa respondents in survey questionnaire using
weighted mean score.
- Pearson product moment correlation kay maoy mag identify sa relationship between two
variables sa among study.

GUIDE STUDY/HIGHLIGHTED

GLOBAL ISSUE

1. Emergency cases and any untoward incidents may happen anytime and anywhere by
Monge and Perez (2021) a study in California. Children spend considerable time at
school, knowledge, and awareness in first aid is important especially in situations
requiring the skills, the level of awareness of students in performing basic first aid and
explores the relationship to their academic performance.
2. Additional study of Bali (2022) In India, they ranked third globally in terms of
economic losses and loss of lives
3. Countries with aware and active communities in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) experience
fewer losses during disaster events. As a result, community involvement in Disaster Risk
Reduction (DRR) not only reduces the burden on governments and local administrations but
also empowers communities to be self-reliant in emergency situations.

PHILLIPINES

1. A study by Simon et al. (2019) in Capiz, Philippines. Faculty and staff show high
resilience by actively participating in activities like earthquake drills and
community recovery drives. However, students lack skills in Disaster Risk
Reduction and Management (DRRM), such as "Drop, Cover, and Hold”
2. Additional study of Soriano (2019) in Manila, Philippines. The Philippines has
been classified as highly vulnerable to natural disasters. Hence, reinforcing the
capacities of communities towards the risk and adverse impacts of natural hazards
is essential in order to reduce vulnerability and manage disasters.

LOCAL

1. the preparedness level of criminology students remains under-examined. Despite the

city’s history of experiencing significant earthquakes, such as the one in 2019, there is
limited research on how well-equipped students are to respond to such emergencies.
2. As observed, first aid and disaster response activities are the being offered to one
subject only
METHODS

1. It explains the sampling strategy utilized, the data sources, the respondents'
descriptions, and the research design.
2. It outlines the methods for collecting the data, metrics for measuring the variables,
statistical methods for evaluating and interpreting the data, and the ethical issues raised
by the research.

SAMPLING TECHNIQUE

1. PURPOSIVE SAMPLING - which units are selected because they have characteristics that
you need in your sample
2. RANDOM SAMPLING - simple random sampling technique is a randomly selected subset
of a population
THEORIES

This theory can help understand how people's beliefs about the importance of First Aid
training (attitudes), societal expectations (subjective norms), and their confidence in their ability to
perform First Aid (perceived behavioral control) affect their willingness to participate in training and
respond during emergencies. By applying TPB, researchers can identify factors that motivate or
hinder people from acquiring and utilizing First Aid skills, leading to more effective educational and
intervention strategies.

DATA ANALYSIS

Weighted Mean Score. This will utilize in illustrating the level of First Aid Awareness and level
of Disaster Response among criminology students. Moreover, this would give the actual list of the
means of each indicator of level of First Aid Awareness and Disaster Response.

Pearson Product Moment Correlations. This will utilize in finding the association between the sets of
data gathered and the interval of the ratio scale upon measuring the variables. Moreover, this would
illustrate the suspected linear relationship of the two variables, First Aid Awareness and Disaster
Response
