• This provided me a solid foundation to embark my career in the field of quantity
surveying.
• Start talking about professional experience
• The projects worked in (project > Employer > Engineer > Scope)
o Major bridges construction project of the national road network package 2
o Construction of a New Bridge in Udappuwa Town in Puttalam District
o Road rehabilitation project in the Mannar district
o Railway upgradation project from Maho to Omanthai Sri Lanka
• In these projects my major role encompassed of duties such as
o Preparation of Interim Payment Applications, Statement at Completion and Final
Payment Application
o Administration of variations and claims by coordinating with the senior quantity
surveyors.
o Reporting to the senior quantity surveyor, project managers, general managers
regarding project costs, project progress, contractual matters and getting advice.
o Monthly updating project progress, cashflow, and cost value reconciliation.
o Drafting letters for correspondence with the Engineer.
o Coordinating with quality assurance department and assisting them for
maintenance of QA documents. These QA documents are submitted along with
the IPA as supporting documentation.
o Administration of sub-contracts.
o Ensuring the validity of different guarantees and insurances are maintained.
o Delegating tasks for assistant quantity surveyors and interns.
o Coordinating with the administration department for procurement of materials
and making payments for suppliers.
• Why do I want to join AIQS?
o I want to join AIQS as a professional member because it’s an important step in my
career. Being a member will help me stay up to date with the latest developments
in quantity surveying and give me opportunities to learn and grow. It will also
allow me to connect with other professionals and contribute to the industry with
a strong commitment to high standards.
