I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Multiply 2 to 3 digits by 1 digit numbers without regrouping

II. SUBJECT MATTER


a. Topic: Multiply 2 to 3 digits by 1 digit numbers without regrouping
b. Reference: Mathematics Teacher’s Guide Grade 3. 131-134
c. Materials: Manila Paper, colored paper, chalk, popsicle stick,
disposable cup, flash cards, PPT

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
Review
What was our topic yesterday?
In the following multiplication sentences, box the
multiplicand, encircle the multiplier and underline the
product.
1. 5 X 6 = 30 4. 6 5. 9
2. 8 X 4 = 36 x7 x7
3. 9 X 8 = 72 42 63

Motivation (Bring Me!)


The teacher will give a learning task or a game to the students.
Asks the students to bring you something like ballpens, crayons
or pencil. The teacher will pick a random students from the
class. When the teacher says, “Bring me pencil and ballpen.”
Ask the students to identify what are the 2 things I have and and
multiply it.
B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
1. Presentation
There are 5 Popsicle sticks in 1 glass and there are 5 disposable
cups with consist of 5 Popsicle sticks.
2. Performing the activity
Pick 5 students to count how many popsicle stick in 1 cup and write
on the board the answer.
5 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 25
5 popsicle sticks of 5 disposable cups 5 x 5 = 25
Showing more problem using long method.
Showing 3 boxes and each box has 16 candies. How many pieces
of candies are there?
Vertical Method: 16 Multiplicand

How to multiply vertical method: By place Value

3. Activity
Group the students into 3 groups. Each group has a task to do.
Group 1 (Math BINGO)
Solve the following problems and find the sequence pattern.

Group 2 (Balancing)
Solve the problems and balance according to product. Put stone in
the cup is the product is much bigger than other product.
Group 3 (Post on the Wall)
Looking the product at the wall. Identify the multiplicand and
multiplier and paste it on the wall.

4. Analysis
(Presentation of group task)
After 10 minutes, the leader of each group will present
their work in front of the class.

5. Generalization
How do we multiply 2 to 3 digit without regrouping?
