King Mu of Chu, also known as Xiong Shangchen, reigned from 625 BC to 614 BC and was the son of King Cheng. He ascended the throne after forcing his father to commit suicide to prevent his brother from becoming crown prince. King Mu was succeeded by his son, King Zhuang.

Mù Wáng), personal name Xiong Shangchen, was King Mu of Chu
from 625 BC to 614 BC the king of the Chu state.[1] 楚穆王

King Mu was a son of King Cheng and was the Reign 625–614 BC
