• Contro Unit (CU) – coordinates all processing activities in the CPU as well as input,
storage and output operations. It determines which operation or order of the
instructions should be executed. To coordinate these activities, the control unit uses a
system clock.
• ARITHMETIC AND LOGIC UNIT (ALU) - This deal with all arithmetic and logic
operations. The basic arithmetic operations include: Addition (+), Subtraction(-),
Multiplication (*) and division (/).
• Main memory – are devices that is capable of storing information. There are two
types of computer memory
