LOCATION :-Babarmal Formation (Pink Marble)
COORDINATES :-24.4444°N 73.7419°E
WEATHER :-Clear Sunny Day
DESCRIPTION :-The Babarmal Basin,
located in Rajasthan, India and is known for its
potential mineral resources. Copper
Mineralization has been identified within the
basin. Deposits of Lead and Zinc are also
present. This region is rich in deposits of Pink
Marble which is 1.8 to 2.5 billion years old
(PROTEROZOIC EON). Babarmal Pink Marble is a
part of Aravaliorogenic cycle. It is found in the
Babarmal Formation, which is the middle
STRATIGRAPHIC unit of the Lower Aravali Group.
In lower Aravaligroup there are two formation
and these are DELWARA FORMATION and JAMAR
KOTDA FORMATION. MAKRANA MARBLE is the
purest variety of marble.
OBSERVATION :-In Babarmal Formation
we observe that the color of marble is pink which
is due to the impurities present in marble , and
the impurities like [Fe and Mn]. Deposition of pink
marble in this region have distinct colour and
veining and texture which makes it economically
beneficial and attractive. The formation of
Babarmal Pink Marble is a complex geological
process that involves several key factors :-
SEDIMENTATION, METAMORPHISM, MINERAL
IMPURITIES, VEIN FORMATION, TECTONIC
ACTIVITY. Pink Marble is used for a variety of
interior and exterior application, including
Flooring, Countertops, Sculptures, Outdoor
Applications, Decorative objects, Wall-cladding,
etc.. Its texture is Smooth and Fine Grained.
When we burn it we get the smell of hair burning.
Babarmal Pink Marble is predominantly calcitic.
Babarmal Pink Marble is associated with quartzite
and Quartz- Pebble- Conglomerate (QPC).
Babarmal Pink Marble has undergone
greenschistfacies metamorphism.
DAY-4 (SPOT-1)
DATE-
14/1/2025
LOCATION :-Kaloda mines (soap stone)
COORDINATES :-29.5674°N 75.9986°E
WEATHER :-Clear Sunny Day
DESCRIPTION :-
Kaloda is located in Rajasthan, known for its
potential resources. Significant copper
mineralization has been identified. Lead and Zinc
Ores are also present, often associated with
mineralization. Talc (soapstone) is found in
ABUNDANCE here with calcite, manganese and
schist deposit. Age is 1.8 to 2.5 billion years old
(PROTEROZOIC EON ). Its STRATIGRAPHIC
position is DELHI SUPERGROUP. More than 50%
of talc deposit are made because of alteration of
Serpentinite. Dolomite gives the purest form of
Talc. Soapstone is a composition of
HyderousMagnisium Silicate. Associate Rock is
Schist and Mother Rock is
Dolomite. In local language it is
called Burea between Talc and
Dolomite. It is dipping towards
East.
OBSERVATION :-
Soapstone typically originates due to
metamorphism of ultramafic rock like perioditite
and serpentinite, rich in magnesium and Silica.
Talc is hydrous magnesium silicate mineral. Talc
is very soft and have a texture like soap and is
named as SOAPSTONE due to its properties. Its
main uses are in cosmetic items and detergent
industry in making of detergents and soap. It
have significant use in medical industry . It is
sometimes found in Grayish, White and Pale
White. It has very soft, very fined grained, clay
like texture. It has mineral composition of
