Digital Presentation
Q. What is Digital Presentation?
Ans. A digital presentation is used to show or explain a concept to an audience. It
is computer software package used to display information; normally in the form of
a slide show.
Q. Explain Home tab and its groups.
Ans. Home tab has commands for formatting of text, selecting new slide and for
drawing of objects. It is also used for editing the content of a presentation.
Different groups are as follows:
1. Clipboard: This group has options to cut, copy and paste text. The format
painter is also present here, that copies formatting of the text.
2. Slides: Slides group enables you to select a theme and layout for a slide, reset
a slide or delete a slide.
3. Font: Font group has options that enable you to change the font (face, style,
size) effects, color and character spacing.
4. Paragraph: This group is used to change paragraph setting-alignment,
indents, spacing and pagination like spacing 1.5, double spacing, indentation,
spacing before and after heading.
5. Drawing: This group enables a quick selection form in-built shapes;
arranging the order and grouping objects; filling, outlining and adding effects to a
selected shape.
6. Editing: Editing group has options t o select, find and replace text.
Q. Write steps to open, save and close a presentation,
Ans. Steps to Open a presentation:-
1. Click start-> All programs->Microsoft Office->Microsoft Office PowerPoint.
OR
Double click on a shortcut key of the MS Powerpoint icon, if available on the
desktop.
Steps to save a presentation:-
1. Click on Office button.
2. Click on Save as option. Save as dialog box will appear
3. Choose location where you want to save and then type the name of the
presentation in the Save as Box.
4. Click on Save button
Steps to close a presentation
Click on the cross symbol “X”, that you see on the top right hand corner of
the screen. OR
Click File->Close
Session 4: View a presentation – Slide Show View
Q, Explain the three primary views to view a presentation.
Ans. The three primary views of a presentation are:-
a) Normal:- This view is used to create the slides.
b) Slide Sorter:- This view shows the miniature of all slides and enables you to
easily arrange, move, delete and reorder slides.
c) Slide Show:- This view is used to show the presentation to other people, either
directly on the computer or by connecting it with a projector.
Q, How do we show the presentation?
Ans. By pressing F5 key or by clicking Slide Show icon.
Q, Write steps to add images/picture in a presentation.
Ans. Steps are:-
1. In the Insert tab, click on Picture option available under Illustration group.
2. A dialog box will appear, Select the picture file and click it to insert it.
Q. Write steps to Insert shapes in a presentation.
Ans. Steps are:-
1. In the Insert tab, click on Shapes option available under Illustration group.
2. A drop down list will appear, click the desired shape to insert it.
Q. What is presentation theme?
Ans. Predefined designs are called the presentation themes. These are used to
enhance the presentations. Steps to use the theme are:-
1. Click File->New. A box with various existing themes will appear.
2. Select the option themes, and then select one of the themes.
3. The blank file with the selected theme will open. Use this file to create
presentation.
Q. Write steps to change the design of a presentation.
Ans. There are two options to change the design that are available in Design Tab:-
a) Themes group b) Background group
a) Using Themes group – Click one of the designs available in Themes group of
Design Tab. The selected design will be applied to all slides.
b) Using Background group – Background group changes the background color of
the slides. Click the Background Styles option under Background group of Design
Tab. A box will appear. Click the option Format Background. A box will appear.
Click Fill-Solid fill->Colour. Select the desired color and select the option Apply All.
The selected colour will be applied to all slides.
Q. Write steps to add and delete the slides in Slide Sorter View.
Ans. Slide Sorter View is a window that displays small size of all slides, arranged in
horizontal rows. This view is helpful in making global changes to several slides at
one time, rearranging or deleting slides, move, copy or delete the slides
. Steps to add slides are:-
1. Select the option Slide Sorter option under the Presentation Views group of
View tab.
2. Position the cursor between the two slides, where you want to add the blank
slide.
3. Under the Home tab, in the Slides group, select the New Slide option.
Steps to delete slides are:-
1. Select the option Slide Sorter option under the Presentation Views group of
View tab.
2. Select the slide to be deleted.
3. Press Delete key or select the option under the Home tab, Clipboard group.
Q. Write steps to print a presentation.
Ans. 1.Click File->Print. A print box will appear.
2. In the copies box, enter number of copies you want to print, in the Name
box select the type of printer, to print all slides select all in print range.
3. If you select Handouts in Print what box, how many slides you want to
print on a page and Click OK.
