The Reflection
Hannah had always loved the antique mirror in the hallway of her new apartment. It was
old, ornate, and had a certain charm that the modern furniture around it lacked. She never
thought much of it, other than that it gave the room an air of elegance. But as the weeks
passed, strange things began happening.
One evening, while walking past the mirror, Hannah caught a glimpse of herself. But her
reflection was... wrong. Her expression was twisted into a grimace, a sinister smile
stretching across her face. Her reflection winked at her, as if it knew a dark secret she
didn’t.
Hannah froze, heart pounding, staring at the glass. She quickly looked away, shaking it off
as just a trick of the light or her imagination. But over the next few days, she noticed that
the reflection would change on its own—smiling when she frowned, tilting its head when
she looked away. Sometimes, it seemed to move, its eyes following her.
Then one night, she woke up to the sound of scraping, like nails on glass. Her heart raced.
She turned to look at the mirror—her reflection was gone. In its place was a dark shape,
leaning out toward her. Slowly, the shape began to step out of the glass.
Hannah screamed and ran from the apartment, leaving everything behind. She never
returned. The mirror remains in the hallway, empty, waiting for its next victim.
