So, how do you fancy an extra $10,000 that you feel comfortable risking?

If you’re using money that hasn’t come from your personal bank account
you’re much more likely to take risks with it, right

And higher risks can mean higher rewards.

But first you have to make the $10k :)

So in this publication I’m revealing some strategies I use in my business to


get as much revenue per subscriber as possible

I also share how I’d get those subscribers in the first place, and methods
anyone can use to personally to gain an advantage over their competition,
while at the same time building riskable income that you can use
imaginatively to build income streams

P.S. And the Liberation part of the title?

Well because an extra ten grand above and beyond your usual salary or
usual income that is intended as a RISK ASSET that you can speculate with,
invest, buy a working business or whatever is the point of this publication.

Build up the traffic, the monthly income and sell it for much more, or keep it
as passive income.

With your extra ‘riskable’ $10,000 you could make an offer to buy the royalties

This is a $2,012 per year income stream.

Or you could create an info product business, buy crypto, outsource a high-
level course to sell, send a shedload of traffic to an evergreen affiliate offer or
invest in gold, the stock market or art.

It’s about generating a chunk of change that you’re not scared of losing.

Why?

Because if you’re not scared, you’re much more likely to use it for something
less safe, more creative. More risky, sure.

But also higher risk comes with higher rewards.

You could invest in whisky, art, vintage motorcycles or you could take it to the
casino and try to double it by placing everything on red.

The point is that disposable income - ‘riskable’ income is quite a remarkable


thing in terms of what I think of as Modern Day Prospecting

Looking for golden nuggets, passive income, flippable deals and cash cows.

So how to get your riskable ten grand?

(and it can be more or less depending on the work you put in obviously)

Liberation…

Leverage gives you liberation.

And of course, money is leverage.

And the best way to achieve BOTH is to get the maximum possible
result from every aspect of your business.

You know back in the day when food was scarce and you had to use every
part of a pig you decided to slaughter?

(Vegans look away now)

Every part of a pig can be consumed - from the diaphragm in a stew to the
brain in a garlic-and-onion omelet. Then you have chops, steaks, bacon,,
bollocks, brawn and bath-chaps (cheeks)

The juicy bits AND the squidgy bits - they ALL contribute

And that’s what I’m going to show you now..

How to squeeze every single drop of value of out every lead, customer, offer
and asset you currently own, have access to, can create or are an affiliate for.

More Bang For Your Buck

So whether you’re paying for solo ads, paying for Facebook Ad impressions
or paying an affiliate his commission to send traffic to your offer or landing
page…

…the more paid traffic you want, the more it costs.

But here’s a thought for you.

If you had developed a system for making an average of $5 per new


subscriber, rather than just the industry-average $1 per new subscriber, your
traffic costs would be just ONE FIFTH - 20% of what you’d pay if you were
only making $1 per subscriber.

Maths..

Boring..

Maths…

But think of it like this.

Instead of paying $1000 in traffic costs (regardless of what that raffic source
may be)

It’d just cost you $200 to get the same results.

Which means your expenses would be less, your profit would be more, and
it’d be a lot less bloody stressful because you’d have much less risk.

It’s about maximising the dollar amount you get from every single lead
who comes into your system.

It’s about having a duck who lays silver eggs or a goose that lays golden
eggs.

Both are good.

But one is BETTER.

Because one egg is worth much more.

Quick Story…

I was working with a client who was getting his traffic from affiliates.

He paid a 100% commission (through a Warrior Plus offer if I remember


correctly) and his earnings per new subscriber were pretty good.

His upsells converted pretty well and he was making a chunky profit even
thought he was paying 100% commissions on the front-end of his funnel (and
50% on all of the upsells)

He was pretty happy and his funnel and his follow-up obviously converted
well too.

Then he started buying traffic in the form of Facebook ads and solo ads.

His conversions bombed. Splat!

He was losing money on the ad purchases.

He got pissed off and started moaning about ‘poor quality’ traffic from paid
sources.

And yes, paid traffic is often of a lower quality, but I had a similar funnel (in
fact his was based upon mine) and mine was well in profit from paid traffic.

I even recommended some solo ad sellers that I’d had good results with so
our traffic sources were almost the same.

Yet his funnel - the one that had proven to work well on Warrior Plus, was
bombing.

So I took a look at his funnel.

I asked to see his follow-up emails

And I asked to see the swipe emails he’d given to his affiliates to send out.

I asked to see the swipe he was using when he bought paid traffic.

It took me about 30 seconds to realise the problem.

In the swipe emails he’d written for his affiliates to send out to send to their
lists, he’d added some information about who he was as a marketer.

So the affiliates were sending out emails that basically introduced him and
what he did.

The leads knew something about him when they arrived at his page

But in his swipe for solo ad vendors to use, there was nothing about him -
only his offer.

So we changed the solo ad swipe so it was almost identical to the one his
affiliates send - with a little info about him.

And because I don’t trust solo ad sellers to actually use the swipe email we
provided we also added a couple of lines on his squeeze page that
mentioned his name and what he did.

We ALSO added a PDF to the download page that new subscribers went to
after they’d opted in which gave much more information about him, his
business, his family, his products and some nice pics of him too

The funnel began converting.

Not as well as the affiliate funnel, but that’s to be expected - the traffic isn’t as
warm - but well enough that the numbers put him nicely into profit.

The only issue had been that the paid traffic didn’t know him.

He was a faceless marketer to them. Change that and the trust comes.

So if you’re not making enough money from the traffic you’re getting (and you
can easily make $10,000 from 1000 subscribers) then it’s not them, it’s you :)

$10k from 1000 subs is an average of $10 per lead per YEAR

Someone check my maths but I think this is right…

Which is 83 cents per month per person (averaged)

20 cents per week per lead

That’s an AVERAGE of course.

Averaged out over the entire 1000 leads.

So what we’re focusing on here is making $10,000 from as few leads as


possible in case getting to 1000 takes some tme.

Make Every Shot Count Boys!

I don’t think kids play Cowboys and Indians any more.

Even I’m aware it’s culturally sensitive

(BTW I recently found out my wife’s Canadian Auntie has some Blackfoot blood running through
her veins that she’s very proud of. Seems wonderfully exotic to someone from Yorkshire :)

I mean it was bloody hard to track down the royalty-free image above to use
on this page and it hardly depicts The Little Bighorn eh?

So what’s the point of me wading clumsily through political correctness,


cultural appropriation and risking pissing off an entire nation?

Well apart from fun, it’s because of the old cliche of a group of people being
surrounded and outnumbered and down to their last few bullets (or arrows)

They say ‘Make every shot count buys!’

And that’s how we’re going to conjure up an extra riskable $10,000 a year.

We’re going to make every lead count.

We’re not only going to make then hand over money (in return for value of
course), but we’re going to make them hand over their clothes, shoes, undies,
kids and pet dog too.

Metaphorically speaking of course.

Because if we can make the same revenue from ONE new subscriber as
we previously could from TEN subscribers, by leveraging the hell out of
the offers we put in front of them…

…then it’s going to be a lot easier to make as much riskable extra income as
possible

And we’re going to do this using the following system:

Each New Subscriber Must Take


Multiple Rides

Just like a visit to the theme park or Disney World, we’re going to encourage
our new subscriber to take as many different rides as possible.

Once he’s been on the ‘Five Day Autoresponder Sequence’ we’re going to put
him onto (for example) the ‘Affiliate Ride’

After that he’s going to visit the ‘Recurring Payment Pathway’ and then
maybe to the ‘Giant Coaching Offer’

How?

You do this by taking him off one list and adding him to another when a
sequence finishes.

You could also give him the CHOICE of where he goes next.

Because if we give him a chance to CHOOSE which ride he takes next, he’s
far more likely to pay a higher price to get on.

I’ve run out of metaphors now - but do you get what I’m saying?

We’re going to create a number of different offers, journeys and opportunities


that every one of our new subscribers can go on, in the form of
autoresponder sequences

Sometimes we’ll let them choose which order, sometimes we’ll give them a bit
of a nudge, but the more they take, the more money we’ll make

Oh - and this is going to take a little setting up, but nothing huge

If these are affiliate offers then you can use swipes supplied by vendors, copy
supplied by their sales pages and more, and once each individual ‘ride’ is
completed, all we have to do is make sure we build a path to link them all
together

How?

Create simple pages that ask him what he wants to know about and give him
two links or buttons to click - a choice (for example affiliate marketing or
copywriting) When he clicks a particular link he can trigger a new
autoresponder series to be delivered to his inbox.

If you’re confident with using automation rules you can do this inside your
autoresponder account. If you’re not (or your autoresponder doesn’t do
automation - although most do) simply get him to opt-in to a different list
which triggers the new sequence.

Remember he’s already on your list so he won’t be wary of opting-in again -


he’s simply adding his email address to receive new information.

How Human Nature Is Keeping


You Broke

I struggled with this next bit in my own business.

Yep, guilty.

Truth told I still have to keep my eye on the ball or I can still wobble.

Which is bad bad because this can cost you literally hundreds of thousands of
dollars in lost revenue

What am I talking about?

Prioritising the new customer too much

It’s why many wannabes don’t ever - EVER - make any money online.

Imagine you have a dress shop.

The bell tinkles and a lady walks in looking for a new party frock.

You begin to help her, giving advice and directing her towards very expensive
dresses that might be what she’s looking for. She’s interested.

Then the bell tinkles again and another lady walks in, so your attention travels
towards her - you go up and greet her, ask her what her requirements are and
begin to help her.

She has a quick look around then buys a pair of shoelaces and leaves.

You go back to your first customer only to find that without your advice and
support (and she’s a bit pissed off because you suddenly left her when the
new customer arrived) she’s decided NOT to buy the $3,000 dress she was
very interested in.

She leaves, and you’re a dick.

One who just missed out on a three grand sale.

And that’s what most - yes MOST - unsuccessful online businesses are
doing.

They’re neglecting to follow up with existing, established, regular buyers and


spend most of their business time, activity and focus on building pages and
funnels for new customers who haven’t even arrived yet and might buy ZERO
when/if they do.

It’s bloody crazy

Do you have VIP customers?

You really should.

Because these amazing people are the ones who actually pay your bills.

If you do a breakdown of your sales you’ll soon find that regular buyers -
those people who buy most of everything you put out - are a big chunk of
your income source.

Set a threshold - mine is currently around $500 - and anyone who has a
lifetime value of above that amount is a VIP

They are treated like royalty.

They get discounts, they get priority answers when they email me and I’m
happy to go the extra mile for them, every time.

So while we need to gather 1000 subscribers for this strategy, it’s going to be
very focused on those subscribers who DO STUFF in your business

So you’re going to be flagging up people who buy, maybe tagging them in


your email inbox so when they get in touch you can answer them first.

This isn’t an essential part of the strategy but I needed to do it personally


because it forced me to focus on looking after the buyers that were coming
back time and time again, not just on potential new leads

And as we all know, it’s a LOT easier to resell to an existing customer than it
is to acquire a new one, as anyone who has struggled to get subscribers onto
their list will be aware.

So tag em and hug em

1000 New Subscribers Over a


Few Months.

If you get 1000 subscribers and you have a reasonably decent engagement
strategy (I’ll show you all this later) then you can make $10,000 of riskable
money, within a few months to a year.

So the first thing we’re going to do is plug any leaks in your squeeze page.

Once we’ve got a lead to your opt-in page, whether thats been sent by
affiliate traffic, or you’ve bought solo ads or Facebook ads, or you’ve been
hustling on the forums helping people and sharing your free lead magnet, or
you’ve been posting memes, social posts, Tweeting or whatever…

Once you’ve got him to your squeeze page we’re going to do our best to NOT
let him leave without opting in to your list or seeing an offer, engaging
or whatever.

I’ve been having a fair bit of success with the following approach

Instead of having a traditional opt-in box I’ve been positioning my free offer as
a $0 PAID offer.

In essence it actually IS a checkout cart so the experience of getting


something for free feels real

I can use ThriveCart to process a $0 offer in the same way they would do a
$97 offer, and the details of my new subscriber are automatically put onto my
list. This is not a new approach, but it’s one I’ve not used for a while.

I’m still split-testing but the $0 offer is converting very well.

But that’s just the initial part of the squeeze page.

We’re NOT taking ‘No’ for an answer.

You know when you’re asking someone for a date that you really like, you
don’t just give up after the first refusal.

You try different angles - humour, romance, if you believe those Hollywood
movies you might even bring a guitar and serenade outside their bedroom
window.

Same if you’ve ever worked in sales. What’s the old line? It takes seven ‘no’s’
to get a ‘yes’?

Is this proven?

No idea - But I DO know that I make sales of my products every month, so


that means the later buyers probably saw the offer several times in the past
before they purchased.

And if you’re a parent who ever bought their kid a puppy, or a bike or went to
Disneyland…did you say ‘yes’ on the first ask?

Probably not.

And that’s why we’re not taking the first ‘no’ as the final answer on our
squeeze page.

Because when you ask more, you get more results

That’s it. And it’s simple…

In practise all I did was add an exit splash:

It offers one of my products for free.

Now if they opt-in immediately - from the main opt-in page - they ALSO get
the above free product (I’ll go onto that in a sec) but they don’t know that at
the time because they get two freebies - the one above and one that
introduces me and what I do.

Check this out:

It might be too small to see properly, but here’s what it means…

I tag every subscriber who opts-in through the exit pop-up so I know where
they opted in from - which squeeze page, which variation, exit pop-up or not
etc

And while I’ve been testing this, from just over 600 new opt-ins, 167 of them
came from the exit pop-up.

That means that 27.8% of my opt-ins came from that exit pop-up!!

I freaked out when I checked these stats at first, because I almost didn’t add
it. That means I would have lost over a quarter of my subscribers who would
simply have left my squeeze page because they didn’t like the look of my
main squeeze page

I’ve had bad dreams about how many subscribers I’ve lost in the past when I
didn’t do this, and I can tell you right now this is going to be a permanent
feature.

Notice that on the exit pop-up I configure the button to look like a check out
again?

That button takes them to a sales page and then to a checkout cart. All $0
once again, but it feels like a checkout so they feel like they’re getting a paid
product for free, which of course they are.

That’s it - belt and braces.

No other attempts to get them to sign up.

ALTHOUGH I do have the option of ‘dunning’

If you’re not familiar, ‘dunning’ is following up on cart abandonment, and


because they began the process of checkout (even though it was for a $0
product), I can still set up a follow-up email.

You know the kind of thing - you get an email saying ‘Did you forget
something?’ then trying to persuade you to complete checkout.

I imagine I’ll be testing that at some point very soon.

So that’s the first part of making every single communication with your list
count. Eating the whole pig, so to speak although I really don’t think of my
prospects as pigs obviously - it just gets my original point across :)

Belt and braces. Don’t give up after the first refusal. Ever.

OK, Now They’re on Your List…

So now they’re on your list.

It’s time to SELL.

Make no mistake about it, you’re in business to make money

Yes I love helping people, I love watching my clients go full-time online with
my coaching help, and I love the feedback, emails, the gifts (yep I get ‘em),
the naked selfies and the lovely comments.

I have some of the funniest, most intelligent, insightful, interesting and


successful subscribers in the whole in internet marketing, I’m convinced of it

But I’m still here to sell.

And this is also were many marketers fall down.

They try to start selling without adding one TOTALLY VITAL INGREDIENT

If you don’t do this your conversions are going to be crap.

It’s this:

ENGAGEMENT.

They’ve got to know just a little about you.

Get a feel for your personality, your business and whether you’re the right sort
of marketer for them

This is also the point I get my highest rate of unsubscribes.

Because they get to know me, see my personality, my marketing style,


my ethos about life…

…and some of them don’t like it LOL

Which is fair enough.

I’ve opted in to lists and been bored rigid by some marketer who obviously
takes life very seriously and his approach to marketing is like joining the Hitler
Youth (can you still say that?)

So I unsub.

Then I’ve found marketers I really like and because I like their approach I take
in their information much easier and it’s a far more pleasant experience.

So in a second I’ll talk you through my engagement procedure - which in


reality is a REJECTION procedure, where some of my new subscribers think
I’m a bit of a tosser and leave. Below are people leaving my list:

Now in all seriousness this can be tough for some marketers, because it
really IS being rejected for your personal style of marketing.

Like being dumped from one of those TV dating shows.

My subscribers have pulled back the screen and there’s a hairy, beardy
specky Yorkshire bloke standing there in a scruffy pair of jeans and a T-shirt
and they don’t like what they see.

I’m really labouring this point to try to get you to see that while it IS about
personality, it’s NOT personal - they don’t know you in reality.

If you’re bothered by unsubscribes and take them personally do this:

1. Stop looking at your unsubscribe numbers. It doesn’t matter - they’ve gone.

2. If possible, disable the box in your autoresponder that lets them leave a
personal comment. Just leave the dropdown options so they can’t get too
nasty.

I’ve never been too worried about this and I think my Getresponse account is
set to turn off custom comments but the screenshot gives you an idea of the
unsub reasons they choose from the drop down when they leave my list

Reading between the lines (remember they usually choose the closest option
to their reason for leaving) I would say that most think I email too much,
followed by them not liking the content of my emails for various reasons.

This is totally fine of course - I respect their decision and wish them well.

But a big part of engagement is getting the people who aren’t or don’t want to
engage with you to leave.

Just be aware this is a positive thing.

So when they opt-in to my list the first page they see is this:

A good old fashioned one-time offer.

It’s not actually a one-time offer because they’re offered the same product in
the follow-up email sequence I’m about to show you, and so I don’t say it’s a
one-time offer.

But it does introduce the product AND I chose this because the sales page
also shares quite a bit about me and how I approach business.

So not only is this something they can purchase, but it’s also the first step of
the engagement process.

It’s got a picture of me at home, it even mentions that it’s in my wife’s


workroom (so it reveals we both work from home), it introduces me as a
coach and also that I also work with people who are desperate to start
making money from home with an online business.

It’s a very gentle nudge about me, my lifestyle and how I work with all levels
of marketer - personal clients and beginners.

Here’s a secret:

This offer wasn’t the best-converting one I tried as the first upsell. But
because I also offer the same product in my first few follow-up emails it
converts very well over the first few days.

I mean look at the bloody sales page (shown in wide-screen below) - it has a
HUGE shot of the earth from space as the background.

This isn’t an accident.

It’s because I want the salespage to be instantly recognisable so they


remember seeing it, and it always nudges a few fence-sitters to purchase.

Hard to miss eh?

Back to engagement…

When they check their inbox they’re taken to a page that allows them to
download the two free products that they opted in for.

One shows more about me and my life.

You’ve probably seen these pics before - I use them in many of my lead
magnets because they work so well in terms of engagement with new
subscribers (below)

Dan Kennedy says ‘Establish who you are and why they should buy from you’
and that’s exactly what I’m doing

At the end of this engagement PDF I include a link to where they can join my

It’s a 40-ish page PDF and it’s pretty good.

It shows the quality, the standard of my products and adding this as a freebie
made a big difference to my conversions.

I think this is because they could see that my stuff is good so buying other
products is much less of a leap of faith than it would be if they’ve never seen
anything I’d written before.

I can’t really test this hypothesis but I’d bet a thousand quid I’m right.

So you getting the picture?

Initially it might seem like the usual squeeze page, opt-in, one-time-offer,
deliver freebies.

But I put some serious thought into what I wanted this initial step to
accomplish (before I even begin with my follow-up).

And it’s about engagement, trust, reducing the leap of faith when it comes to
buying and dumping those subscribers who aren’t really a fit for me.

Even better, the whole thing is automated.

Go look at your initial opt-in and delivery.

Many marketers not only don’t think about this, but they actively HARM the
relationship that is supposed to be built at this stage by introducing the wrong
product at the wrong time in trying to make a high-ticket sale from a free opt-
in.

Also check for dead links, too many steps for them to go through without
losing interest, how YOU come across as a marketer and how you would feel
if you were the new subscriber.

Trust me, I don’t have any significant advantage when it comes to first
impressions.

I look a bit weird on photos, I’m not the best looking bloke in the world and I
don’t do videos, so I have to work to my strengths.

And one of those is being VERY aware of the new subscriber experience.

It’s SO important.

Because the follow-up process hasn’t even started.

Following-Up…The Real Gold

The front-end and the back-end of your online business have very different
jobs to do.

As I explained above the front-end should be a fully automated process of


getting as many prospects as possible to sign up to your list, getting RID of
the ones who aren’t a fit, then building as much trust and engagement as
possible with you as a marketer

In as short a time as possible.

If you can get them signing up, deciding to stay and then reading the free
lead magnets you give them within an hour, you’re going to make money.

That’s the role of your front-end

Making sales from upsells or one-time offers are nice, and very welcome.

But they’re of secondary importance.

If you focus on that, you’re looking in the WRONG place for your profit.

Printers are cheap to buy, so the company makes its money off subscription
for ink cartridges.

Same with $20 oil changes. The oil itself can cost $20 let alone the labour
involved. The profit comes with following up as they find other faults in your
car, offer servicing packages, repairs and selling new cars.

It’s about acquiring customers - REPEAT BUYERS.

You know this.

And that’s what my follow-up process does.

When a new subscriber comes onto my list they currently go onto a 30 day
autoresponder sequence.

You might have seen this before, I’ve shared it in other publications.

The titles of the emails are for my reference only (e.g. Solo Ads Email 1’) so I
know which is which. The actual subject headers when delivered are
obviously proper email subjects designed to get opened.

Affiliates are also cookied in on this 30 day sequence so they get


commissions on all referral sales made from them.

The emails are pretty much all content.

Stories, educational, sharing stuff about my business, strategies etc

They’re also evergreen.

I promote one product over two emails.

Now there are variations on this follow-up process you can use.

One os offering purely affiliate products if you don’t have any of your own

The other is using a combination of automated follow-up and broadcast


emails. Here’s what I mean…

Combining automation and ‘live’ broadcasts.

Pre-scheduled autoresponders are wonderful things but they lack some


qualities that you get with a freshly written broadcast email.

For example you can comment on current events, you can give updates as to
what’s happening that day in your business, and most importantly for me -
you can include genuine scarcity in your offers.

I don’t like using fake countdown timers, so I like to send live broadcast offers
to my list too.

But if your new subscribers all go onto an autoresponder sequence how do


you so this?

It’s not difficult but I’ve worked with quite experienced clients who don’t know
this so I’ll include it here

The first way to do it is to NOT mail any live offers to your autoresponder list
at all.

When they finish the sequence (30 days or whatever time you set) then you
set an automation rule that moves them OFF the autoresponder list and puts
them onto your main list, the one you send broadcasts to.

As soon as they’re on your main list they’ll receive any broadcasts you send
out.

The other way is to schedule your autoresponder sequence so NO messages


are sent on (for example) Wednesdays and Thursdays.

This will be done for you automatically when you set the rule, so if a
subscriber on your automated follow-up sequence is due to be sent an email
on Wednesday (because he signed up on a Tuesday) the automation will
delay sending that email for two days until your non-send days have passed
and he’ll get the next email in the sequence on Friday.

Why leave Wednesday and Thursdays (or any days you wish) free of
autoresponder messages being sent?

So you can send broadcast on those days with your live offers, latest
products or updates that need to be in real-time.

It’s clever and you get the best of both worlds

It also means that you don’t have to write a live email every day which can be
difficult if you’re not used to it.

So what do you include in your autoresponder sequence.

Well, obviously you want to sell your offers.

As I said above, I email the same offer over two days, in two separate emails
containing different content.

This is so anyone who sees the offer and is intrigued but doesn’t buy it
immediately has a second chance when the second email arrives a day later.

But I also use my emails to introduce various price points for my products.

I let my new subscribers know immediately that they’re not going to be paying
$9 Warrior Plus prices for my stuff.

This works incredibly well.

It establishes me as a marketer who commands higher price points very


quickly, which I would find very difficult to do in an initial funnel.

So your autoresponder sequence is the place to introduce anything in your


business that is out of the ordinary (and you SHOULD have some aspects of
this if you want to differentiate yourself.

So if you’ve worked with famous people or coached well-known marketers


(and they’re OK with you mentioning it) then here is where you establish that
fact

If you don’t give refunds make it known in your first few AR emails.

If you supply white label in three different languages let them know

If you’re a Christian marketer or don’t take Paypal, or DO accept Bitcoin then


the first few AR emails are where you establish these facts.

Don’t be vague about it - these are your strengths, YOUR RULES and if they
want to purchase your products then they have to abide by your rules.

It’s not arrogance.

It’s very clever marketing, because most people LIKE rules.

They like to know where they stand, they like to know the guidelines and
they’ll respect you for it

Not all will like it of course - because my first few AR emails are where my
unsubscribe rate goes up again :)

But that’s fine.

Because the ones who stay, are keen.

Time to get onto advanced follow-up strategies

Advanced Follow-Up Strategies

First off, get used to the idea that you’re gong to be following up with your
subscribers forever.

Or until they die, or you die, or they leave your list, or you chuck then off your
lost… or there’s a nuclear war.

Because that’s the point of your business (following up) and is where a big
chunk of your profit comes from.

This is why it can be hard work if your business model is based around
sending daily broadcasts as mine is - writing ecery day.

I’m used to it now, but there are other ways.

You can create multiple 30 day autoresponder sequences and simply move
your subscribers to a new one when the old one is finished.

You can promote the same products (or different ones) of course.

And with a little work you can end up with a year’s worth of pre-scheduled
emails.

And that’s powerful

It all works and it’s very profitable.

You MUST follow-up constantly or your income will stop.

OR there’s another choice - start getting hands-on with some deals.

So why would I mark him as a VIP?

Well because I can then segregate and contact VIP customers, either as a
group or individually and offer them custom deals, tailor-made coaching
packages and VIP discounts.

For example recently I created a White Label offer (I rarely offer WL) and only
allowed VIP customers to access that at an early-bird price that wasn’t
available to my general list.

List segregation is something I do a lot of - whenever someone buys a


particular product they are then added to a buyers list for that product.

So not only do I know who’s bought which products, but I know which OTHER
products they’ve also purchased.

Why does this matter?

Here’s why - this is important and SO profitable!

Because if I can see they’ve bought every one of my products related to (for
example) email marketing I can approach them to offer a custom-built year
long coaching program (which usually starts a dialogue about their idea
coaching support from me)

Here’s the thing:

When you start out with an internet marketing business it soon becomes clear
that the ‘goal’ for most people is hands-free, automated passive income.

It’s the holy grail of marketing to be able to get up on the morning and check
your stats to see what automated hands-free sales have come in overnight
from your autoresponder sequence.

Been there done that.

It’s fun.

Then as you learn more about business, read more, speak to multi-
millionaires and watch their business practices you realise that hands-on
deals are VERY profitable.

Too profitable to be ignored.

So if I can send an email to a VIP customer and offer them a year long
$24,000 coaching packages based around their area of interest (or area of
concern) I think that’s a decent morning’s work.

Not only that but because I’ve marked him as a VIP and can see from his
past purchases what he’s into, it’s SUCH an easy sell you wouldn’t believe.

Hell, it’s not actually a sales email really - it’s just a polite offer.

Sometimes that year long package will turn into a $1497 email coaching
package or a 6-months accountability arrangement.

But the point is, I’ve come back from trying to be ‘all automated’ because the
metrics I track make it so easy to pitch personal VIP offers.

Not only that, but because I can see what ALL past customers have bought,
which products sell best, bring in the highest revenue and so on, I know
exactly what sort of products to create to guarantee that they’ll sell.

The extraordinary power of giving REASONS

This is probably one of the top ten pieces of advice I can give you about
online marketing - specifically about offers and selling.

If you give your target market a REASON that you’re doing something, you’ll
make more sales.

Marketing with affiliate products is a great example.

It’s kind of counter-intuitive if you’re a marketer selling your own products and
services, that you would promote another marketer’s products and services,
especially if you’re in the same niche.

It’s like saying - ‘Yeah my stuff is good, but I’m recommending his instead’

Obviously there are various darn good reasons to promote other marketers
as an affiliate - not least money.

But also you may not have enough of your own products yet to promote them
regularly, you may not have experience or expertise in that area, or more
likely you’re rushing out to dinner or on vacation but don’t want to leave any
money on the table that day by not emailing your list so you fire off one of
you’re pre-written, ready-to-go emails.

Most marketers have them.

I do.

So I’ve been promoting Roy Carter’s stuff for quite a while.

I don’t promote many marketers these days.

I like his stuff.

This is the reason I promote him:

Total commissions of $27,566.50

Which, based on 50% commission mean I’ve generated sales of over


$55,000.

So how to promote affiliate products to your list without devaluing the


perception of your own products or looking like one of those marketers who
constantly promotes everything out there?

I sometimes have to shake my head when I see marketers email out and tell
their lists they ‘struggled to find anything to promote’ that particular day :)

But still somehow manage to include a link to an apologetic less desirable


product because they feel they have to spend something out for a few
commissions.

Promoting affiliate products is easy money if you have a responsive list.

The vendor takes care of the support, any refunds, any hassle while you just
mail out and bank.

And affiliate marketing is a great way to start out too.

So going back to my original question, how to promote affiliate products to


your list without devaluing the perception of your own products or looking like
one of those marketers who constantly promotes everything out there?

Well you give your list a REASON.

Here’s a sign-off from one of my PDF’s

There’s a reason I was promoting Roy’s coaching - because my own


coaching program was full and currently closed.

When it comes to promoting other products I use GENUINE reasons such as


telling my list I’m buying it for myself (I always do)

So if I see a product I like the look of, I’ll buy it then let my list know I’ve
bought it - no recommendation, no ‘BUY THIS’ email, just aheads-up that it’s
available.

So not only did I include a link to my own free traffic product, but I also said I
was about to buy it, meaning I couldn’t offer an opinion or review of the
product because I hadn’t actually seen it yet

It cost me around $17 to buy - I DID buy it.

I made $776.41 from that email

And I did the same with John Thornhill’s free (postage only actually) book that
I bought for myself because I wanted to read it.

I sent ONE email about the above offer at the start of the year and then
included the same email in my new subscriber autoresponder sequence.

I made$1,673.69

I reckoned that was pretty OK from a couple of emails so I set up a solo ads
campaign to promote the offer.

The results for that are still coming in because I’m re-investing the profits into
buying solos to send to a squeeze page I built so I don’t have to risk my own
money (Yorkshire miser again :) but I’ll share them when I’ve assessed them.

So these commissions really aren’t earth-shattering on their own, but you’ve


probably worked out by now that my business is about multiple income
streams - creating as many as I can

Not only do I find this interesting to do (I have a short attention span) but it
also greatly reduces the risk of relying on one stream

Again, I pitched the JT email as simply mentioning a book I fancied buying for
myself although I did leverage knowing both John and Randy personally so I
get that not everyone could do that.

My point is that I gave my list a REASON that I was mailing out for this
offer.

And that’s what most marketers just don’t do.

If YOU start doing this - giving reasons - you’ll have the edge on your
competition:

Does the product you’re promoting as an affiliate:

Provide something that your business can’t

Offer something that you DO offer but is currently closed

Is of interest to you personally and you think it might interest your readers

Is totally different to what you do and piqued your interest

Is from someone you know and like their stuff

Is something you’ve been looking into

Is from an expert you follow

From a person you know

etc…

There are TONS of reasons you can give why you might choose to promote
something.

You might be starting up the affiliate side of your business again and you’ll
keep your readers up to date with the results

You might be looking for offers to send paid traffic to

Just give reasons explaining WHY and you’ll get a much better response and
you won’t devalue your own products in your customer’s eyes.

It’s all about being just a little bit different from everyone else, and honesty is
a great seller.

One last point…

I love affiliate marketing.

It’s a great way to get started making money while you create your own
products and it’s been very profitable for me.

But I’d only recommend it when you have a list.

Sending traffic directly to affiliate offers does work - there’s no denying that -
but it’s difficult unless you have a lot of ongoing traffic to (for example) a
YouTube channel or Insta feed.

It’s difficult to track, but from feedback, emails and chats I’ve had over the
years from vendors, buyers and from subscribers I’d say that 95% of every
affiliate commission I’ve made has come from an existing subscriber or
customer.

They’re already on my list - they’re buyers and they’ve purchased my


products and then gone to purchase other vendors products via my affiliate
link.

If you’re focusing on affiliate marketing build a list first OR as you go.

The Point Is To Reinvest as You Go

A bloke I know bought shares in Royal Mail in the UK when they came on
offer to the public for the first time.

He bought the maximum allowed amount in his name, and he’d registered his
wife to be able to buy some too, so he bought the maximum allotted amount
in her name too.

As soon as the deal went live the shares doubled in price.

He withdrew his initial investment and left the shares that had doubled.

He was now playing with their money - his profit.

It’s the same in casinos.

If you have the discipline to withdraw your original stake if you have a win,
you can comfortably play risk-free with the house’s money.

Nothing you didn’t already know - It’s just common sense.

That’s what riskable money is about.

If I take $1000 out of my bank account to buy solo ads with, I’m nervous.

But if that $1k is profit from a quick affiliate promotion I ran, it’s fine. I get
excited by the risk - it feels like I’m really working on my business.

And that’s the point of this publication.

It’s to gradually scale up to $10,000 of riskable money by putting into


place the things I’ve mentioned already

Yes, if you get to 1000 subscribers you can easily make $10k a year and
more.

But you’re not getting there in a week. It’s going to take some months unless
you’re very proactive.

But risking a lower amount - say $100 to get something going isn’t too much
of a scary thought or major loss if anything happens.

And if you can turn that $100 into $200 and do something with that cash,
you’re moving forwards.

So how would I do it, from scratch, with just $100?

Well, first off I wouldn’t spent ANY money on buying a product to sell such as
PLR or White Label.

I’d create it myself - I’d invest time not money

And I wouldn’t initially try to sell anything myself because that takes time,
practice and funds.

So I need to get leads and leverage sales as easily as possible

I have $100 and I need to start building a list - here’s how I’d do it.

I’d go and look at the ClickBank Marketplace to get an idea what is selling
best to online income seekers.

The REALLY popular stuff that appeals to a boarder spectrum of people who
want to make money online.

Now normally I wouldn’t go too broad but in this instance I’m looking for the
type of product that appeals to as many people as possible because I’ll be
buying broad traffic.

Now here’s the gold:

I’d create a FREE version of one of these as a lead magnet

How would I create a free versions? Where would I find the info to include?

Go to YouTube and paste the exact same product title into the YT search bar
- e.g. ‘Get paid to use facebook twitter and YouTube’

Now some of these vids are obviously just there to get clicks to offers,
promotions and websites. They’re a bit crap.

But some of them contain some good info about how to get paid for using
social sites.

Certainly enough information to create a short free lead magnet using it

So now you have a lead magnet on a subject that is one of the best-
selling products in the ClickBank Marketplace.

If people are buying these products, they’re almost certainly going to be


interested in similar info for free.

So I’d build a squeeze page and buy some traffic to it.

Facebook ads would probably be the way I’d go, although I personally know
solo ads much better.

Before sending ANY traffic whatsoever though, I’d put a small funnel and
follow-up sequence in place using the strategies I’ve mentioned in this
publication.

Make sure you use the belt and braces method to ensure as FEW people
leave your squeeze page without signing up. Get an exit pop-up installed.

Combine automation, broadcasts and individual offers and approaches to


responsive subscribers.

Work the crowd, get your hands dirty :)

Encourage your subscribers to contact you personally for help - because


when they do, and they get a personal response from you, and you
recommend a product they’re MUCH more likely to buy it

Be honest and give them reasons - yes you’re recommending a product and
using your affiliate link (tell them) BUT if they buy through your link you’ll give
them a week’s personal email support.

When you’re starting out you need to grift a little - hustle a little.

Reinvest your profits into more traffic, and while that’s happening start
creating your own products, or add to them if you already have some.

Look at introducing a membership site and coaching offers.

What I’m describing here is not new - BUT the strategies aren’t widely known
and will give you an edge if you use them.

Listen - most wannabes create a lead magnet and hope for the best.

Maybe they create it themselves or from PLR with little thought about what
their potential leads want or need.

You on the other hand can go out and find what is currently selling then
best and offer them a free version of it

Immediately you’re ahead of the competition. Put that extra work in and you’ll
see the extra results.

If you continue to do the same thing as everyone else you’ll get the same
results as everyone else, which isn’t great when you consider than 95% never
make any money.

The strategies are there for everyone to see (except for the golden nuggets
I’m sharing here) and use.

The difference is YOU.

You are the X factor (without the botoxed zombie judges)

You are the spark, the thing that ignites your income avalanche.

I’m about to relate.

Maybe because they don’t want to, but more likely because it goes against
everything they’ve been taught.

Also, because we’re in the make money online niche (mostly anyway) with
this publication I’m going to directly relate it to that.

There are reasons why some people make money and some don’t.

There are reasons why some people are successful and why other aren’t

It’s because successful people look at themselves for answers, and


unsuccessful people look at the model they’re operating for answers.

Shift your focus today.

It’s not the model that makes the difference, it’s you.

Like him or loathe him, if you give Elon Musk a broken down wheelbarrow
and $50 and asked him to build a million dollar business from scratch, you’ve
got to admit he’d probably do it.

Whereas you could give other people (for example my brother-in-law or my


cousin Jeff) $500,000 and ask them to double it…

…and I’d lay odds there would be no money left in two months because
they’re both idiots.

Now I’ve started mentioning this in some of my other publications and I’ve
had a LOT of very positive feedback.

People are talking about taking responsibility and working on their own
development as well as their businesses, and that’s a GOOD move.

But for me it was far easier than that, although I admit I stumbled onto it.

I just shifted my focus OFF my business when something went wrong


and ONTO myself.

I stopped thinking about how it ‘wasn’t working’ and started asking myself
what I’d done that had caused whatever event to have happened (or not
happened)

Not in a blame kind of way.

Just realising that it was my actions NOT the business that had caused it.

I’d not spent enough time writing a certain email or sales page, or maybe I
couldn’t be arsed to research what products were currently popular when
creating an offer of my own, then it was obviously MY fault when it bombed.

It was ME who was at fault.

I just needed to put more work in to get it right.

And the good news was, most times I was able to make it work next time
around.

And this is the BIGGIE:

Every time I come to do something in my business now, my mental


focus is on ME and not the business model.

I’m looking at what I’m doing and how that is affecting my results.

It’s a kind of shift from being someone who is just working on your business,
to someone who is able to put anything they want, in place because you;re
not limited by the business model. Get it?

You become a free-thinking entrepreneur, and not constrained by the things


the experts say you ‘should do’ in your business or the niche or model you
operate in.

This is exactly how I come up with a lot of my out-of-the-box ideas and


cineom streams that make me more money. Realising it all comes from ME

And that’s what you can do, starting today
