Reflection paper

Korea is known for their idols, k-pop groups, dramas and plastic surgeries. But aside from
those, Korea is a magnificent country with other more interesting things to explore. As we all know
Korea use bowing as a form of greeting or saying goodbye, aside from that, they also use handshake
to show great respect. But they have rules in doing so: one may support the wrist of their right hand
with their left as they do the hand shake. They also address stranger with “ahjussi” which means
uncle, or “ajumma” which mean aunties, other than that, they call people with either mister, miss,
doctor or teacher, unless the other person let them call him or her with their names.Their flag has
white background, has a circle at the center with red color at the top and blue at the bottom, and a
four black bars around the circle. I’ve heard that their flag is called taegeukgi. Since I’ve watch a lot
of k-drama, I’m aware that men goes for military service when they turn eighteen to thirty-five but it
still amaze me that all men have the chance to learn how to use guns, and serve their country. But of
course there is an exception, and it is for those who have disabilities, tho they could serve through
public service in return. One Korea’s history and culture that is known are seollal and chuseok
festival. Comes every February 10, seollal is Korean’s own kind of new year and chuseok is their
thanksgiving day which they celebrate every September 28. Koreans traditional dress is called
hanbok, this signifies an individuals gender, social class, marital status and age. Their famous sport
is taekwando which explain why they have a lot of taekwondo studious scattered. Koreans are also
known for their table manners --pass both hands, pour for others-- and famous dishes like bibimbap,
kimchi, tteokbokki and many more.I myself wanted to taste this dishes because when I watch k-
drama, actors look so delighted eating those, others said its not that good, but I wanna taste it
anyway. Korea is also known for their temples, extra ordinary architectures and endless monotonous
gray apartments. Their soul lantern festival is also awesome --you could watch musical
performances, people singing and dancing around Seoul sites, eat sticky rice ,and make and fly
lanterns. Other festivals are fascinating too ---the Sakura season, Jeju fire festive, Boryeong and
many other more. Most of all, Korea is known because of their k-pop idols, and dramas. We know
how excellent those actors are, the plot of each series and movies are well-thought, and the fact that
they promote love that doesn’t comes overnight and the process of feeling development are always
on point. Those good-looking idols with slim body, flawless face and captivating voice is a candy to
our ear and eyes. The drama industry and k-pop were screaming the Korean culture and show the
word the glimpse of their country through those.

“The most fascinating fact that got me while learning things about china is that they have “singles
day” and it is celebrated every 11th of November. I wonder how good it is to have a day to celebrate
your loneness. China is known for their one-child policy and it ended in 2016 because china has a lot
of old people yet young’s are few. China is said to be the 3 rd largest country in the world and their
capital is Beijing. They have an elevator call “bailong elevator” in wulingyuan area of Zhangjiajie
that can carry visitors up to three hundred meters high on a cliff’s adge and that this elevator is the
worlds heaviest and highest outdoor elevator. There are three pillars of Chinese society: the Taoism,
Buddhism and Confucianism. Taoism believe that humans and animals should live in balance with
the Tao, or the universe. Buddhism on the other hand believe that human’s life is a cycle of suffering
and rebirth. And the golden rule of Confucianism of “don’t do unto others what you would not what
others to do unto you”. their flag has red background, red as blood as these represents revolution,
ass the biggest star symbolizes CPC or Chinese Community Party, and the four smaller star around it
symbolizes the Chinese people. I was also mesmerize with their dress, the fancy cheonsang, hanfu,
and quapo that cover their body but still manage to carry fashion and elegance in one frame. With
what I’ve seen from movies, all Chinese people wearing their traditional dress look like god’s and
goddesses, they were just all beautiful. Their national dish is peking duck, which I’ve always eaten
together with my family when there is an occasion, and I could tell that it is really good. About the
things that China is famous for: their martial arts or kungfu as they call it; I’ve always seen it at their
movies and they execute it very well, the longest yangtze river, the cute panda’s and the never
ending great wall of china. In terms of small things, I learned that chinese people’s lucky color is red
and the thing im most excited about --the ampao, who wouldn’t be excited about gifts? Even in
ampao’s in shoppe boost my serotonin, but I’m shock that they don’t care what’s inside and most
delighted with the red envelope they had received.
