Session 3: SEO Signals by Sir Ammar

● Why SEO?
○ SEO is essential for online visibility and success.
○ Sir believes in the core concepts of SEO.
● Nice Research: "Why" should we do SEO?
○ SEO requires valuable internet skills.

Two Main Areas in SEO:

1. Business (Blogging)

2. Job (Freelancing)
We can pursue both simultaneously.
Recommendation: Start 1-2 websites.

SEO as a Business

● SEO is a business that provides great ROI (Return on Investment).

Blogging Business and Niche Research:

● Blogging Business:
○ Niche Research: It takes time but is important for long-term success.
○ Site Development: Requires both investment of time and money.
○ Off-page SEO: Creating backlinks.
○ Ranking: Leads to profits.
○ ROI: SEO provides one of the highest returns on investment.
● Important Note:
○ Time Tracking: Keep track of how much time you spend daily.
○ Financial Tracking: Note how much money you invest in creating and
maintaining the site.

SEO Example Using a Game Analogy:

1. Website Authority:

○ Think of SEO as a game with two sides:
■ One side is the website.
■ The other side is the weight needed to rank the site.
○ Ranking Signals add weight to the website’s authority.
○ Ranking Signals include:
■ Content: The better the content, the higher the weight.
■ Speed: Page speed is a lighter signal but still matters.
■ HTTPS: A necessary ranking signal.
■ Backlinks: High-quality, powerful backlinks are heavy weight signals.
■ Contextual Backlinks: Relevant backlinks.
○ Example:
■ If the content is great but the backlinks are not strong, you can still rank.
■ If the content is weak but the backlinks are strong, you can still rank.
○ Backlinks:
■ A backlink is like a reference from another website.
■ The stronger the backlinks, the better.

Business and Niche Research:

1. Difficulty:
○ SEO difficulty consists of:
■ EMDs (Exact Match Domain): Domains that exactly match the search
term.
■ RDS (Referring Domain): Refers to the number of domains linking to
your site.
■ Topical Authority: The more topics a website covers, the higher the
authority.
○ Example:
■ Facebook has high domain authority, but a niche website might rank
better by covering more specific topics.
○ Referring Domains:
■ A good SEO strategy requires one link from each referring domain.
■ One domain providing multiple links still counts as just one referring
domain.
2. Profitability:
○ Profitability depends on:
■ Volume: Search volume and traffic potential.
■ Country: Focus on foreign countries or English-speaking countries for
more opportunities.
○ Focus: It’s important to focus on difficulty more than profitability in SEO.

Authority and Metrics:

● Authority:
○ Google ranks pages based on authority.
○ Ahrefs: Domain Rating (DR) measures referring domains.
○ Moz: Domain Authority (DA).
● These metrics aren’t perfect, but they help estimate authority.

Final Advice:

● Focus on building authority through high-quality content, fast page speeds, relevant
backlinks, and covering the right topics.

Part 2.
Session 3: SEO Signals by Sir Ammar

● SEO, why and what for?

● Sir believes in SEO concepts.
● Nice research: "Why" do SEO?
● Skill: Internet skill.

Two things we can do with SEO:

1. Business (blogging)

2. Job (freelancing)
● We can do both.
● Everyone should start 1 or 2 websites.

SEO as a business:

● SEO is a business that gives a high ROI (Return on Investment).

Blogging Business:

1. Niche research takes time.

2. Site development requires investment + time.
3. Off-page SEO: Create links.
4. Rank your site to give profits.
● ROI = Return on investment (This is the highest here).
● Take your site as a business; daily time spent is important.

Time management:

● Note down the time spent and the money invested when creating a site.
Example of game:

1. Website on one side, ranking site weight on the other.

2. Ranking signals add weight to the site.
3. The heavier the content, the higher the rank.
4. Ranking signals:
○ Content (better content = more weight).
○ Quick Speed (a light signal).
○ HTTPS.
○ Backlinks (powerful, heavy weight).
○ Contextual backlinks.

Backlink Example:

● A strong backlink means better ranking.

● For example, if you apply for a job, one person has a backlink from a famous source,
and another has one from a small source. The stronger the backlink, the better.

SEO & Business Research:

● Two things in niche research:

1. Difficulty
2. Profitability
● Google prefers dedicated links because they are specific to a domain.

Difficulty:

1. EMDS = Exact matching domain.

2. RDS = Referring domain (we check this).

For example:

● One domain with 1 link = 1 referring domain and 1 backlink.

● One domain with multiple links = 1 referring domain, multiple backlinks.
● Topical authority: The more pages on a topic, the better.
● Facebook has a high DA, but iSkill has a low DA. However, iSkill is on top because it
covers many topics.
● Every referring domain must give at least 1 link.
● A good referring domain = multiple small domains.
Ahrefs = Domain rating = Referring domain (other factors).

Profitability:

1. Volume: How much search, how much money?

2. Country: Foreign countries.
3. Language: Foreign languages (e.g., English).

Focus on Difficulty, not much on Profitability.

Authority in different Terms:

● Google: Page Rank

● Ahrefs: DR (Domain Rating)
● Moz: DA (Domain Authority)

○ Flippa
○ Motion Invest
○ Empire Flippa
2. Use filters in Flippa.

If it's a big site, we should reverse-engineer it as well because any one keyword can be found
