Be Still My Soul (SA)

Narrator: Life is full of uncertainties, heartaches, and trials. It is is so unpredictable and tough.
When times get rough and we hit the rock bottom, where do we go to? What do we do? And
where do we run to? Late in the 18th Century, there was once a quiet Lutheran woman named
Katharina Von Schlegel born from an Aristocratic family, found refuge in writing songs when she
faced hardships.
Katharina (while writing) : Lord, I know you are in my side. I just have to patiently bear this cross
of grief and pain. I know you held the past, and you hold the future. You are the navigator of
this universe. Only through you will I be able to rise among these wearisome trials. I know, I can
trust You. (With power) BE STILL MY SOUL!
Narrator: As time passed, the majestic music entitled “Finlandia” that once inspired Finnish
nationalism was paired with the comforting words of Katharina von Schlegel’s, “Be still my
soul”. From the fervent struggles of a nation to the quiet faith of Katharina, the hymn spoke to
countless of souls. This beautiful song became a beloved hymn across the world reminding us
that no matter how difficult life can be, there is peace in trusting God’s plans and His
sovereignty. Here is the Singing Ambassadors with song, “Be still my Soul”.

God Will Make A Way (AA)

Narrator: In the early 1990s, Don Moen, a dedicated worship leader and songwriter, found
himself in a season of struggle. Despite his success in the music industry, he grappled with
professional uncertainty and personal trials that left him questioning his faith and future.
Don: I am at this point again, God. I don’t know what to do. But surely, You promised that You
will guide me. (Opens his Bible). Lord, you’ve guided Moses and the Israelites when they
crossed the wilderness and the red sea, You were with David when he defeated Goliath, you
were with Elijah when he ran away, you were with your prophets and the patriarchs, you were
with your people, the history spoke. God, if you made a way for them. You will make a way for
me too.
Narrator: Over the years, “God will make a way” has evolved into an enduring anthem of faith.
Its inspiring message continues to remind believers that no matter how daunting the journey,
God is always at work, preparing a way forward. Let us welcome the Alauda Arvensis with the
song, “God will make a way”.

The Cause of Christ (GA)

Narrator: In a vibrant church community, Kari Jobe, Bryan Fowler, and Benjamin Hastings
frequently gathered to worship and collaborate. Each was deeply passionate about their faith
and their shared calling to inspire others to live out the mission.
Kari: We have been writing songs about different themes and topics. But this retreat that we
have, made me realize that there is more to our calling, there is more beyond this faith that we
can do.
Bryan: Yes, living the life that was purposely given in order for the mission to be fulfilled. Do
you guys think how lovely it is to surrender our lives for the Cause of Christ?
Benjamin: How wonderful to ponder that this earthly life that we have is more than living for
ourselves, it is for others, and more so for Jesus Christ.
Narrator: This moment sparked the idea to create a song that encapsulated their commitment
to serving others and embracing a purpose greater than themselves. “The Cause of Christ’
became more than just a song; it turned into a movement of faith, inspiring many to embrace
their roles in the mission of Christ and fostering a sense of unity among believers everywhere.
As the song spread beyond their local church, it reached congregations around the world. And
tonight, suit yourself for it will reach us also through the Golden Aires.

I’ve Just Seen Jesus (AP)

Narrator: In the early 1980s, Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote the powerful gospel song "I’ve Just
Seen Jesus." The inspiration behind the song stemmed from their own spiritual journey and
their desire to capture the transformative power of encountering Christ.
Gloria: I always admired the story of transformation of Mary Magdalene and Saul who became
Paul. After all the hopeless remarks and expectations of the people around them, I’m sure they
were disheartened by their lives as well. But how beautiful grace is when we recognize it, it
changes us and transforms us into something much more than our old, filthy lives.
Bill: Jesus is that grace. If Mary Magdalene’s life changed that moment she saw the risen Lord 3
days after His death and if Saul who was walking in a road to Damascus, then any moment also
we can be changed when we get to see Jesus and experience His love for us.
Narrator: The songwriting process was a collaboration between Bill and Gloria, with Gloria
writing the lyrics and Bill composing the melody. The song is a duet, which allows for the
contrasting perspectives of Mary Magdalene and Saul to emerge, giving it a powerful sense of
personal testimony and emotional depth. Seeing Jesus also means experiencing His grace and
that grace transformational. Let us give the time to Advent Philomels with the song, “I’ve just
seen Jesus”.

God is On Our Side (TM)

Narrator: Randy Vader’s journey as a songwriter began in his childhood, rooted in a family
deeply involved in church life. Surrounded by hymns and gospel music, he developed a love for
music and learned to play the piano by ear. As he grew older, he realized that music wasn’t just
a passion—it was a way to express his faith and connect with others on a spiritual level.
Randy: All these years of labor and hard work, the trials and tribulations, the struggles and
chaos, there is one constant thing that I have observed. God is in my side and though I cannot
see Him, I know He never left. The songs that I have written in my entire life are but evidences
of His faithfulness in my life. He never left and I know He will never leave.
Narrator: Over the years, Randy continued to write songs that captured the essence of God’s
love and grace, always striving to minister through his music. For him, songwriting wasn’t just
an artistic outlet—it was a divine calling to help others experience the peace, joy, and hope that
faith brings. The song, "God is on Our Side," written on 1992 with Jay Rouse became a turning
point in their career. It spoke to the theme of God’s unwavering support in difficult times, a
message that resonated deeply with worshippers. The song was embraced by churches
everywhere, marking the beginning of Randy’s influence in worship music. Here is the Thrushes
Ministrants with the song, “God is on our side”.

The Lord Is My Light (MVCA Teen)

Narrator: During a personal period of struggle and uncertainty, Joseph Martin, a renowned
composer and choral arranger found inspiration from the Psalms. His life was not easy like
everyone of us and at his lowest point, he turned to the word of God and found out something
that would inspire not only him but countless people around the world.
Joseph: “The Lord is my Light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? What a wonderful
proclamation it is. I know that this road we are all taking is dark and uncertain, but the Lord
promises us that He is our light and like the Psalmist David, we also should declare, “to whom
shall we fear?’ The Lord will surely abide with us and He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Narrator: When "The Lord is My Light" was first introduced in churches, it quickly resonated
with congregations. Its timeless message and accessibility made it a favorite for worship
services focused on hope, trust, and overcoming fear. The anthem continues to be performed
widely, serving as a reminder to all who hear it that God’s light is always present, even in the
darkest of times. Tonight we will be reminded with that once again through the MVCA
teenaires with the song, “The Lord is my Light”.
