Agent baby:
as the clicking sounds of stomping echoes through the hallway. thump, thump,
thump... a pair of black derby stops in front of a door 'no.59'. Knock, knock... a
deep stern low voice suddenly call out.
"Chief Nick, i have arrived."
As the door slowly swing open and soon appear a middle aged man in his 50s in a
white shirt, neatly tied black tie, hazel eyes, with his haggard face, dark brown
hair mix with white hair, the man let out a gentle smile as he glances at the young
man who had just knock the door.
"Ah, you're here, Luciu- uh, Dusk." The man says with wriggles slightly form at the
end corner of his eyes. With a slight nod he gestures his hand back as if to invite
the young man standing to go inside.
There goes a glimpse of a spacious room yet cluttered with purposes. The rooms is
not brightly lighten up, it is rather dark. A large mahogany desk dominates the
center, its surface strewn with documents, open folders. A half-empty coffee mug
rests precariously close to a stack of reports.
Beside the desk stands a wall of shelves showcasing neatly arranged awards, framed
photos of the chief with dignitaries, and a scattering of books. However, some
spaces are hurriedly filled with files and binders shoved in at odd angles.
The chair, slightly turned to one side, as if the chief has just sprang out of it.
Beside his desk, is a switched on standing lamp. Nearby, a small side table holds a
water carafe and glass. The armchair in the chief's room is positioned near a
corner or beside the small table.
The windows behind the desk are large, allowing in the brim of dazzling city's
lights. There cast shadows by the blinds that are drawn halfway which hides the
incredible view that looms outside, but the chief barely has time to enjoy the
view.
On the opposite wall, a large conspiracy board is filled with color-coded notes,
small portrait pictures with threads attached to one another. A digital clock above
it ticks ominously shows '11:20PM'.
"How have you been, Dusk? you're looking as handsome as ever! oh and sorry to call
you here this late." The middle aged man continued as he's walking in front of the
young man.
"You're flattering me too much chief. I've been working on the tasks that you
handed and it'll be done in a day or two if that's why you called me here." The
young man answered with a stern face, seemingly without any expression and followed
behind the man's steps.
"Oh, not that. I've already read the reports my assistance handed me regarding your
progress on the matter. But Dusk take a seat first, won't you?"
The man blurted as he sat on the office chair. In front of him shows a desk fills
with papers piled up all around, documents fill the desk leaving little to no space
left, the only space that is available is for the laptop and the coffee mug.
The young man turns to sit on the armchair, resting both his arms on his thighs,
placing his hand together, fingers clenched on to one another, then he gazes back
at the chief.
"chief, you don't need to keep calling me by that alias, Since it's your office, i
don't think there're any threat around here." the young man said as he looked
straight at the chief.
The chief stares back and soon let out a small amused sigh then chuckled.
"It's not that there're threats lurking around, i mean... how can i call you Lucius
when you give off such a gloomy, cold, emotionless vibe? that name of yours means
light, it doesn't exactly suit you? no? haha, plus your appearance doesn't exactly
fit your name either. I'll stick to the cute agent name i gave you, it fit you
better, don't you think?"
As the chief talked with amusement follows by a soft laughter, he then shifted his
gaze back to the laptop and drank his coffee with a slight smile. Lucius heard the
chief's response, he then quicky turned his head to the side, looking at himself in
the window's reflection. An expressionless face, a slick back pitch black hair,
lushy long and brushed eyebrows combine with full and long lustrous dark eyelashes,
golden-like light brown eyes. He seems to understand the chief's response. he
turned back to look at the chief who was sitting on his chair while tapping his
keyboard.
"I can't exactly argue with you chief, but i don't really care either way." Lucius
directed his gaze down sideway, he reaches over to the table in front of him with
the intention of grabbing the water bottle. He then asks the chief "So, chief. Why
did you call for me?" while asking so, he opens the cap of the bottle, raises his
hand to drink the water.
"We found a lead."
As the chief answered with a serious looks on his face, looking directly at
Lucius's face. At that moment, Lucius pauses. He starts shifting his gaze back to
the chief. Half of his face was covered by the pitched black shadow casted by the
curtains. his expressionless face begin to stiffen, his jaw is clench tightly
making veins pop up on his forehead and neck, his eyebrows begin to frown. The
chief got up from his chair, he extended his hand near the pile of papers on his
right side, he grabbed some documents on top of the paper pile.
"Calm down for a second, we have no solid evidence to whether this lead is 100%
true or not, however all of the clues that we've gathered and information we've
dogged all these years comes to this conclusion. It related to this Mafia gang."
chief says then he sits uprightly on the sofa facing Lucius who seemed to have
settled his anger a little.
The chief slides the paper documents toward him. The chief pulled out a paper, his
finger pointing to the paper that has a photo attached to it, “This is the best
clue that ties them directly to the accident. we managed to get our hands on this
photo just recently, it was taken on the exact date and place that your family were
found dead, there're a bunch of people alongside an unknown man, he's holding a gun
in this photo. There appears a half shown tattoo of the 'Zlataya Mafia' symbol on
his right arm and there's also blood scatter on their bodies, which likely mean
that they were the one who caused the accident. This helps clear out all other
Mafia gangs out there in Russia out of the suspect list."
"......" a brief silent went by. "Who are these bastard?" Lucious muttered as he
picks up the photo, raising it up close. He saw the lion head tattoo slightly
visible on the Unknown man"s arm. His hand trembles as he looks at the photo
Seething with uncontrollable fury. As it seems that the chief heard him, with a
sadden face, he replied:
"well, the photo is blurry and low quality, we can't see their face clearly, so we
can't confirm who those guys are. For now, we managed to identify their main gang.
The guy in the middle, he's probably one of the higher rank members in the gang. We
don't know which high rank member he is and we have little to no information about
all of the members. We also don't know the exact number of all the high ranking
members either, this gang is too secretive, and powerful and is most likely too
large for us to gather any information further unless we directly involved in the
gang itself."
He said, his voice is calm but with a subtle edge of urgency. “This mafia gang is
most likely behind your family's death...and my only brother's death...'Zlataya
Mafia'"
Lucius's face hardened. His jaw clenched, and for a moment, a faint memories
flashed before his eyes, the scene of his parents and older brother lying
lifelessly in front of his eyes, on the grass near the river with bullets immersed
deep in near the bodies, blood endlessly leaked out soaking their clothes with
bright red color." as he lost in thoughts of those memories he then suddenly snaps
back. This was the moment he'd been waiting for. The moment he would avenge all of
his family's death.
The chief stood up. His eyes never leaving his. "Dusk, i trust you more than anyone
else. I want you to go undercover in there and get the evidence that we need to
confirm the murderers, then We will then eliminate their entire bloodline, no one
will be alive." "I have someone prepared another false identity for you, i also
prepared documents of every information we've managed to gather about them.
Memorize your new background and every details of the documents, we shall discuss
about this again next week before we begin the mission."
Lucius nodded grimly. "Yes, chief Nick, I won't disappoint you"
"Even as a chief, i am also your uncle, i am still worried about you, so please be
careful, don't do anything too hastily, i know that you are furious but i want you
to keep calm until we have confirm everything." The chief patted Lucius on his
shoulder from his seats then smiles with a downturn eyebrows, his face displayed a
mix worries and anger. Lucius, he understand his uncle's anger and sadness because
he is the only family he has left after his dad had died to that mafia without any
clear reasons and he too has the same goal as the chief, to seek revenge for his
family's death.
"Rest for now, dusk. it's late. "the chief stood up and returns to his chair.
"Uncle, you should rest too..." Lucius answered with a worried and shy tone.
hearing his nephew concerns, the chief look up from his laptop then smiles happily,
grinning ear to ear.
"Oh my, is my cute nephew worried about his unkie???? it's okay, Your favorite
uncle is as healthy as ever. My cute baby nephew should go to sleep first okay???
oh, are you scared that you might have a nightmare?? ok then uncle will wraps
things up quickly!!"
"ah here we go again... please stop with that UNKIE thingy. It's embarrassing
uncle, it's cringe" Lucius rubs his temple with a huge sigh. fed up with his uncle
behavior." never mind, CHIEF, I'm going first. please excuse me." as he said that
Lucius quickly walk out the door and left the scene.
"sighh... that kid doesn't understand my love for my one and only nephew huh? he
already left me... hu hu" the chief cried out while making a scrawny face with
displease tone of voice. "I'm just glad i still have him left as a family..." he
then shucked his shoulder slightly and go back to tapping his keyboard.
