Narrative Report The school recognizes the important role that parents play in nurturing
their child’s education. Positive communication and connections
between parents and teachers can lead to a constant improvement of
the children’s performance and well-being. When parents and teachers
work as one, children tend to do better in school and at home. Now that
the school is shifting from modular distance learning and limited face-to-
face to full blast face-to-face classes this SY. 2022-2023, it is very
necessary to keep the parents oriented and gain their support and
confidence in order to make this school year a success.

Parents from Grade Five attended the first face-to-face parents’

orientation for the S.Y. 2022-2023 on August 19, 2022. It was held at
FSS Patulo ES Grade 5 classrooms. The teachers made sure that all
the parents were informed about the orientation and encouraged them to
participate.

The meeting began with a short prayer led by volunteer parent from
each class. The teachers made a short introduction about themselves
and stated some encouraging quotations to remind the parents how
important are their roles to their children. The teachers also discussed
the agenda of the meeting. The following are the points explained by
each adviser:
 Implementation of face-to-face classes;
 Class schedule;
 School supplies;
 School attire;
 Health-related measures;
 Parent-related concerns;
 and Open Forum for the questions and clarifications on the
opening of classes

The discussions of the agenda were accurately explained by each

adviser. During the open forum, the parents asked questions most
especially about the implementation of face-to-face classes which the
advisers answered generously and comprehensively. The parents
showcased their support and responded positively to this new challenge
of transition. They promised to give their support to their children and to
the school. After the discussion, the advisers distributed the books to the
parents. They were also reminded to be ready for the opening of classes
happening few days after the orientation.

The meeting ended with short prayer led by the teachers. Indeed, good
partnership between parents and teachers can address the gaps and
can strengthen the engagement of the learners.
