Hinton

The video features Geoffrey Hinton, a British computer scientist known as the 'Godfather of AI,' discussing the potential of artificial intelligence to either greatly benefit or threaten humanity. He warns that AI may become more intelligent than humans, raising concerns about its self-awareness and decision-making capabilities. Hinton reflects on his journey in AI development, which began as a failure in the 1970s and ultimately led to significant advancements, earning him the Turing Prize in 2019.

1) Video extract Geoffrey Hinton?

What is the topic and the

nature the video?
Whether you think AI will save the world or end it you have
Hinton to thank
It’s the godfather of AI a British computer scientist whose
controversial ideas helped make AI possible so change the
world Hinton believes that AI will do enormous good but tonight
he has a warning he says that might AI be more intelligent than
we know and there a chance that the machines could take over
which made us ask the question does humanity know what it’s
doing no umm I think we are moving into a period when for the
first time ever we may have things more intelligent than us you
believe they can understand yes you believe they are intelligent
yes you believe these systems have experience of their own
and can make decision based on these experience in the same
sense as people do yes are they conscious I think they probably
don’t have much self-awareness so in that sense I think they’re
conscious will they have self-awareness yes so humans will be
the second most intelligent thing on the planet yeh Geoffrey
Hinton told us the artificial intelligence he set in motion was an
accident born of a failure in the 1970 in the university of
Edenborough he dreamed of emulating a neuron system on his
computer he was really studying the human brain no one
believed him he failed to study the human mind it took 50 years
but in the end it worked well at what point did you realize that u
were rt right about your shit I always thought I was right in 2019
he won the Turing prize by trial and error the machine teaches
itself the biggest chatbots have a trillion connections the human

1
brains has a 100 trillion connection but the AI knows far more AI
wasn’t designed by people, people just designed the learning
algorithm

The AI Hinton created was an error

In 2019 they won the Turing award

Geoffrey Hinton is a British computer scientist. He wanted to
create a neuronal network to mimick the human brain he’s “the
Godfather of AI” he received the Turing Prize
