Bactericidal: interferes with DNA replication in susceptible bacteria preventing cell reproduction

Generic name: Ciprofloxa cin

Pregnancy Category C

For the treatment of infections caused by susceptible gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli ,Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumonia, Enterobacter cloacae. Treatment of uncomplicated UTIs caused by E.coli Treatment of chronic bacterial prostatis

Contraindicated with allergy to ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin or other fluoroquinolones, pregnancy, lactation.

Nausea ,vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation , drowsiness, blurring of vision, dizziness

CNS: headache, dizziness, insomnia, fatigue, somnolenc e, depression, blurred vision, hallucinatio ns, ataxia ,nightmares . GI: nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, diarrhea, abdominal pain GU: renal failure

Iron Preparation

Generic name: Ferrous Sulfate Doctors Order: 1 tab once a day

Elevates the serum iron concentration, Which then helps to form Hgb or trapped In tne reticuloendothelial cells for storage and eventual conversion to a usable form of iron.

Prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemias Dietary supplement for iron

Contraindicated with allergy to any ingredient; sulfite allergy, hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, hemolytic anemias.

GI upset: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation ; dark or green stools.

CNS: CNS toxicity, acidosis, coma and death with overdose. GI: GI upset, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, constipatio n, diarrhea, dark stool, temporary staining of the teeth

Warn patient that stool may be dark or green Take liquid preparations diluted in water or juice, and sip them through a straw to prevent staining of the teeth

Antibiotic Cephalos porin (second generation)

Bactericidal: inhibits synthesis of bacteria cell wall,causing cell death

Pharyngitis ,tosilitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes Olitis media caused by Streptococcus pneumonia,S.py ogenes,Haemop bilus

Contraindicated with allergy to cephalosporins or penicillins.

Stomach upset or diarrhea

CNS: headache, dizziness, lethargy, paresthesias GI: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Anorexia, Abdominal pain, Flatulence, pseudome mbranous colitis, Hepatotoxi city, GU: nephrotoxi city

This drug is specific for this infection and should not be used to self-treat other problems
