First we would like to thank God for the strength and blessings that he showers us to do this
research paper, who never left us in times we need him. His always there for us to guide
Thanks to Ms. Lucy E. Alvarez, their research adviser for giving her trust and support also to
her students to do this research.
Also thanks to Ms. Aira Daud, for giving meaningful advices to this students to have the best
results of their study. For sharing her knowledge by giving comments and suggestions.
                                             I. Introduction
Background of the study
It is evident that students now a days may be fed up with numerous tasks a days in school but as
well as at home. It is undeniable that we live in a complex world where things are complicated in the
sense that one has to company with various life's activities to be able to meet the demand of
everyday activities. With these ideas, we formed to aimed at our thoughts of the effects of 55-
minute class durations on the academic performance of Grade 11 senior high school students aims
to investigate whether the duration of class sessions has a measurable effect on students' learning
outcomes. It may explore factors such as attention span, engagement levels, and overall academic
achievement to provide insights into optimizing teaching methods and class structures. As a result,
teachers are able to institutionalize effective teaching choices and revise ineffective ones in their
pedagogy. Our findings if user may bad to identify whether a student's performance is enough on a
55- minutes class, more outs, it tries to find out whether the 55- minutes class in or of great help to
the students. Since their time are affected to other significant choice or pieces of work. It allows
comparing of the advantages or disadvantages of the hard time of students.
Statement of the problem
This study aims to investigate the effects of 55- minutes class on the academic performance of
grade 11 senior high school students . Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:
    1. How does 55 minute time period affects the academic performance of Grade 11 Senior High
School Students?
    2. What are the implication of 55 minute time to the academic performance of the Grade 11
        Senior High School Students?
Assumptions
1. The 55-minute time period can affect Grade 11 students academic performance depending on factors
like attention span, lesson pacing, and material coverage within that duration.
2. A 55-minute class time for Grade 11 students may affect their focus, depth of understanding, and
teaching strategies, potentially affecting their academic performance.
Scope and Delimitations
This study focuses on the learnings of the Senior High School Students. The respondents of the
study will be the Grade 11 Senior High School Students of Claret School of Zamboanga City.
Importance of the study
The importance of this study is to measure the effects of the students learnings. Also it’s
important to know if the students can put on their minds all the lessons that their teachers are
discussing during the 55 minutes.
Definition of Terms
Academic performance it measures the learnings of the students and their achievements in a various
academic subjects.
Class hour it’s a approximately one hour of direct communication between a teacher and one or more
students, miss time for rest or change of classes.

                                        REVIEW OF LITERATURE
This chapter includes information on the research design utilized in this study, sources of data,
instrumentation and data collection, tools for data analysis, and ethical considerations.
Research design
Case study, was used as the research design for this research study. According to Gomm,
Hammersley, and Foster (2000), case study refers to research that investigates a few cases in
considerable depth. Most scholars agree that a case study is not a particular method but a strategy
(Stoecker, 1991, Yin, 1994). It approach that is used to generate an in-depth, multi-faceted
understanding of a complex issue in its real-life context. It is an established research design that is
used extensively in a wide variety of disciplines, particularly in the social sciences. Case studies are
widely used in psychology to provide insight into unusual conditions.
Sources of Data
Locale and Population of the Study
The researchers chose the participants from Claret School of Zamboanga City, which
are the participants are from Grade 11 Senior High School students. The researchers were looking for
the participants who are willing to participate to their study.
       Instrumentation and Data Collection
The researchers will make a letter for approval to be able to conduct the survey that will be sent
to the teachers in charge. After the approval, the survey will be conducted using the time or duration
allotted. The respondents will be requested to answer the form that will be given through online
platform, with honesty reminding them that their personal information and other datas will be kept
confidential. The researchers will be tabulating the result of the survey.
Validation of Research Instrument
The researchers went to experts to consult and to assure their work if correct and relevant to
                                         the to the study.
       Tools of Data Analysis
Analyzing the effects of 55-minute class durations on the academic performance of Grade 11
senior high school students involves collecting data on their grades, attendance, engagement levels,
and potentially conducting surveys to gather their opinions. Analyze the data using statistical methods
like regression analysis or comparative studies with different class durations to understand any
correlations between class duration and academic performance. This could help in determining if
longer or shorter class durations have any impact on students’ learning outcomes.
       Ethical Considerations
The researchers must be sure that the respondents are willing to answer the questions.
