Anodised surfaces from BWB don’t just appeal visually, they also lend a special depth.
The refined dipping process gives the basic aluminium material long-lasting and
reliable protection. Be it colourless or in one of a wide spectrum of colours – anodised
surfaces from BWB last and are resistant for many decades. So even large-scale
installations can be created to order. This opens up an exceptionally wide range of
potential applications – for both façades and interiors.

TRADITIONAL EARTHY COLOURS
During the Colinal electrolytic dipping
process, chromophoric metal salts are
deposited deep in the surface of the
aluminium. The Colinal treatment gives
aluminium a light-fast colouring, ranging
from light to dark bronze tones.

SHIMMERING BRONZE SHADES
The Permabronze multi-stage colouring process
stands out for its natural colour gradation.
Whether for exquisite building envelopes or
accentuated window structures, Permabronze is
lively in appearance and lends a special depth.

HIGHLY RESISTANT COLOURING
The Permalux process stands out due to its
especially hard-wearing anodised layer and
timeless colouring. A Permalux building envelope
has an elegant appearance, is exceptionally
resilient and highly resistant to corrosion: a clear
statement of future-proof architecture.

PERMAGREY
LUXURIOUS GREY TONES
The Permagrey coating binds the alloy elements of the
aluminium with the anodised layer and gives the surface
an anthracite colour. Surface irregularities are
emphasised by the colouring, and the surface of the sheet
is distinguished by the characteristic grain. The process is
for use exclusively on G77Ac sheets, and is not available
for extruded sections and other aluminium sheets.

COLOURFUL LIGHT PLAY
The shades of green and blue created by the
Permacolor process aren’t achieved through the
use of dyes, but by a specific light-scattering
BWB - Permagreen 1 layer structure with metal salt intercalation. The
resulting colours change depending on which
angle you view them from, the position of the sun
and the design of the aluminium surface. The
colour variations lend the façade a particularly
vivid look.

FINISHES
GRINDING AND BRUSHING (E4) PRE-TREATMENT
The finish with an elegant structure
Aluminium surfaces require an appropriate
pre-treatment for the anodising process.
Mechanical pre-treatments such as grinding
and brushing (E4) bring out the metallic
characteristics of the aluminium by giving it a
refined texture. Contamination, corrosion or
slight processing traces must be treated or
concealed during purely chemical pre-
treatment. After what’s known as etching
(E6), the surface has an even, matt finish.
Natural tone EV1 (E4)
We’ll work with you to find the right finish for
your project. We will be happy to trial other
pre-treatments such as grinding (E1),
ETCHING (E6) brushing (E2) and rough grinding.
The fine matt effect
DECORATIVE, HIGH-QUALITY ANODISING
The appearance of the anodised layer changes
depending on the aluminium alloy. In the case
of colourless anodising, the natural tone varies
from silver grey for decorative anodising to
slate grey for aluminium with a high proportion
Natural tone EV1 (E6)
of other metals. For architecture and design
applications, please only use aluminium that is
labelled as being suitable for decorative
anodising.

For a better colour evaluation, we recommend ordering initial samples in A4 format,
as it is not technically possible to replicate the exact colour of the anodised
aluminium in print. The Permacolor and Permagrey processes are only available
with the E6 finish and are shown accordingly. All other samples are shown with the
BWB - Gold 2 BWB - Colinal 3180 E4 finish and are also available with the E6 finish as an option.
