this research aims to investigate the complex relationship between social media

usage and the mental health of senior high school students at Occidental Mindoro
National High School. Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok,
and Snapchat have become a ubiquitous part of young people's lives, offering
opportunities for social interaction, sharing information, and entertainment.
However, excessive exposure to these platforms can lead to social media fatigue,
which can trigger psychological behavior in users, particularly young individuals.

Adolescents who spend most of their time on social media are more likely to suffer
from sleeping disorders and depression.Social media has been linked to mental
health disorders such as depression, anxiety, and cyberbullying. It is also a
significant stage for young adults, where cyberbullying and trolling can be a
significant risk. Additionally, social media can lead to digital harassment, which
can lead to feelings of uneasiness, pain, depression, and disappointment with life.

Young people's lives are now completely enmeshed with social media sites like
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok,, which provide chances for amusement, information
sharing, and social contact. Overuse of these networks, however, can result in
social media weariness, which can cause users—especially young people to act
psychologically. Teenagers who use social media extensively are more prone to
experience sadness and sleep issues. Online networking is causing problems
including anxiety, sadness, and other problems, claim (Patel, Chisholm, Parikh,
Charison, Degenhardt, Dua, Ferrari, Hyman, Laxminarayan, Levin, and Lund
2016).

Additionally, the use of social media has become an increasingly problematic

problem for children since they spend the majority of their time browsing these
apps without receiving any compensation, which is considered a serious risk to
their mental health. Unnecessary use of social networking sites has been found to
increase pain, sadness, anxiety, and disillusionment with life, hence deteriorating
psychological health. Many people, including students—particularly female
students—connect, interact, and socialize differently in educational institutions,
claims (Rajeev,2015). As the majority

Mental health conditions like sadness, anxiety, and cyberbullying have been
connected to social media. For young adults, it's also a crucial time, and trolling
and cyberbullying can be very dangerous. Social media can also result in digital
harassment, which can cause anxiety, pain, sadness, and life disillusionment.
