ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Job Summary: Description of the purpose of the job
Ensure that the Electrical elements in the power plant run smoothly to generate power by
checking electrical machines and machine components, testing their efficiency and making
repairs wherever necessary and suggesting improvements to machines for better
performance.
Key Responsibilities: Brief Description of duties or the responsibilities for the job
1) Maintain 24/7 Plant power generation operation while focusing on safe, efficient,
reliable maintenance and operation of equipment to ensure quality power supply to
the Grid.
2) Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations and come
up with recommendations for maintenance crew.
3) Carry out routine maintenance and repairs at the power plant and make reports for
the planning of long outages and overhauls.
4) Participate in compiling allocated work packages
5) Electrical troubleshooting with objective of preventive maintenance and Repair of AC
and DC Drives, PLC Troubleshooting etc.
6) Ready to work in continuous improvement culture in the maintenance of the power
plant using engineering principles.
7) Keep plant/equipment performance and repair records to enable quality Assessment.
8) Under the direction of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer, participate in the
Identification and evaluation of capital projects including identifying scope, cost,
milestones, etc.
9) Works hands on with Electricians and workers under him in all aspects of their
work.
10) Serves as a key resource for safety related issues with the goal of meeting/exceeding
OSHA requirements for a safe workplace.
11) Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Education and Professional Requirements: The Minimum education level required to
perform this job.
• A Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic engineering, manufacturing
process control or related field
Related Job Experience/Qualification: The Experience required to perform this job.
A minimum of 3 years working at a power plant, heavy manufacturing Industry, processing plant, a
major repair workshop or similar work places are needed for this position

1. Activities Relating to the Organization as a Corporate body;
Apart from the core activities listed above, the Operations Manager Isimba shall participate in
activities of the organisation such as;
• Preparation of daily Activity Plan for Isimba
• Appointment to plant incident investigation committees
• Appointment to risk, safety, fire and first aid committees
• Where identified as capable of providing specific or specialised knowledge, he/she shall be
called upon to provide such expert opinion/knowledge.
• Data entry, Data and information Management, analysis etc.
• He/she may be required to carry out assignments that are not specified in this job
description for the benefit of the organization or if it is deemed such assignment would
improve his/her output capabilities and personal development.
