Part 2. You are a new member of a Car Club. Fill in the form. Write in
sentences.
Do you usually travel by car?
Hey there! I'm new to the club. I'm really excited to meet everyone. To answer your
question, yes, I usually travel by car. It's my preferred mode of transportation. It
helps me move quickly and protects my health.
Part 3. You are a member of a Car Club. You are talking to three other
members in the Car Club chat room. Talk to them using sentences.
1. Hi. Welcome to the club. Tell me about a time you traveled by car.
Hi, it’s fantastic to have a chat with you. I remember a road trip I took up the
Phan Thiet coast a few years ago. We drove along the Vo Nguyen Giap
Highway, stopping at stunning beaches and charming towns. The scenery
was breathtaking, and it was a truly memorable experience.
2. Hi. Tell me about memories when traveling by car.
Well, let me see. Thinking back to car trips, I always remember those long
drives with the windows down, music blasting, and the feeling of freedom.
Road trips with friends, singing along to our favorite songs, and exploring new
places – those are the memories I cherish most.
3. Should we take public transportation or buy a car?
I think that it is an interesting question. From my perspective, public
transportation is eco-friendly and often cheaper, but can be inconvenient with
timing and routes. A car offers flexibility and comfort but comes with costs
like gas, insurance, and maintenance. Consider your budget and commuting
needs before making a decision.
Part 4. You are a member of a Car Club. You received this email from the
club:
"Dear member,
There will be a car program running across Europe. The program invites the Car
Club to send 2 representatives (1 main driver and 1 passenger) and both must have
good driving skills. Do you have any suggestions for the above positions?"
1. Write an email to your friend.
Dear Anh,
How are you these days? Have you received the email from the Car Club about a car
program across Europe? They need 2 representatives: 1 main driver and 1
passenger, both with good driving skills.
To be honest, I was on cloud nine when I heard about this news. I’m playing with the
idea of shooting the manager an email about my proposals. What do you think?
Best,
Pham Tuan.
2. Write an email to the manager of the club.
Dear Manager,
My name is Pham Tuan and I have been a member of the Car Club for 2 years. I am
writing this email to express my feelings and suggestions about the notice that I
have received from our club recently.
According to the announcement, our club will send two individuals for the roles of
main driver and passenger for the upcoming car program across Europe. I was over
the moon when I received this news as I had been waiting for it for a long time.
From my point of view, I recommend Viet Anh as the main driver. He has excellent
driving skills, especially in long-distance and diverse conditions, and has been a
reliable member of the Car Club for several years. For the passenger role, I suggest
Tien Dung. He is not only a skilled driver but also has a great understanding of car
mechanics, which would make him an ideal support for the main driver.
Both Viet Anh and Tien Dung have been active in the club and would represent us
well in this program. I believe they would excel and contribute positively to the
experience.
I hope that my suggestions are useful for you to make a decision. I look forward to
hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Pham Tuan.
