PATTERN NOTES

The German twisted cast on is also called old Norwegian and I similar to the long tail cast on
but a bit stretchier. There are many tutorials online but I like the one from Interweave.

Abbreviations

P = purl
K = knit
St(s) = stitch(es)
M1R = “Make 1 right”, pick up the bar between the last stitch you knit and the one you are
about to knit, bringing the needle from the back to the front. Then knit into the front of the
stitch.
M1L = “Make 1 left” (m1L), pick up the bar between the stitch you knit and the one you are
about to knit, bringing the needle from front to back. Then knit into the back of the stitch.
K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together
