History:
It was founded in Madrid on April 19, 1924,
this year is the 100th anniversary as the
National Telephone Company of Spain
(CTNE). Telefonica was created with the
objective of developing telecommunications
infrastructure in the country. Today the
company operates under companies such as
Movistar, Vivo and O2. It is known in Europe
and Latin America.
The company offers a variety of services:
Mobile phones, Internet, television and
entertainment, financial services and
combined packages.
In the 1990s it changed its name to Telefónica,
S.A.

In 2023, Telefónica earned 40,652 million euros, in revenue, 1.6% more than
in 2022 and the highest volume since 2020.

Type of event:
Telefonica Innovation Day 2025 will be held in the Gumersindo Rico
auditorium of Distrinto Telefonica, in Madrid. Directed by the chief digital
officer of Telefonica (Chema Alonso).
The project and the innovative technology with a live demonstration, where
we see everything from the opening of an account and contracting high-
risk BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) products in any
channel, to the issuance of the activated card.
With this event we want to attract a type of audience that is interested in
technology and telecommunications. Like: entrepreneurs, startups, clients
who are interested in the world of technology.
The event consists of three parts:
1. The first part “Welcome and Connecting Ground”, will be the
welcome and the attendees see the installation with areas where
technological demonstrations and stands will be held (connecting
ground).
2. The second part “(Un) Expected Connections talk”, which you can
follow on a streaming. Chema Alonso will talk about Telefonica's
most notable initiatives.
3. The last part “Afterwork and Connecting Ground”, will be the post-
event part, in which attendees can comment on the event with others
and discuss it.
